Environmentally Friendly Water Bottle,

I really liked the fact that this water bottle was so environmentally friendly. However it only lasted 4 months. My son dropped it on the ground and the top broke off. It might be a little more fragile than others but I think if you are careful about not dropping it on the concrete it should hold up fine. I would buy it again.

Nice water bottle, but cracks easily,

Pros:
- Nice mouthpiece, very snug open-close valve, doesn't leak. - Great for the environment - Nice green color Cons: - Cracks easily. The plastic is more brittle than other water bottles. My daughter dropped it lightly on the kitchen floor and the bottle broke! Ugh.

I picked this bottle because it was environmentally friendly, and inexpensive. After a few weeks of use, however, I noticed it was leaking. Seems like the seal between the cap and the bottle isn't snug enough. So now it is relegated to being my bike water bottle and I have purchased a different bottle for throwing in my bag.
Overall, not a totally bad product for the price, but if you plan on hauling it all over the place in a bag--find something less leak prone.

I bought this water bottle because it was BPA-free, but it is designed horribly. What's the most likely thing you would do with it? Fill it with water and squeeze it to drink, right? Well if you do that, it leaks where the lid meets the bottle.
I'm not sure why other reviewers give it 4-stars then their written review says it leaks, the bottle cracks, etc. Any way you cut it, it's poorly designed.

Biodegradable is great, but I wish they could take more of a beating. I broke two of these in one week. I accidentally dropped both bottles while at speed on a bike on two different occasions. After falling on the lid the mouthpiece broke off. I admit to my clumsiness, but I have had dropped other bottles and they didn't break, at least not after substantial use.

I wanted a sports bottle that was durable, easy to clean and didn't get that "water bottle smell" -- you know, that sort of moldy smell it gets even when you wash it often? This one has been great. It's flexible, so it's great for bringing along with you. The only reason it's not five stars is because it's not sealed well so sadly it leaks. If it's on its side, water drips out, so you can't toss it in your bag. I have a Rubbermaid that is bulky, but it doesn't leak like this one. But if you're just using it on your bike or at the gym, it's great!

I was excited about the enviro-friendly bottle, but I went to use the first time and it was already cracked/cut in one spot. Could have been done by Amazon, but not sure. Not really worth returning, so this one will test the biodegradable theory in the landfill sooner rather than later. I've used the same Specialized bottle for at least 10 years, so might turn there next.

All the Biogreen water bottles I've seen so far are great products. None of them have a smell or impart taste to the liquids in them (I do wash them before use); and they're nice and soft, making it easy to get a quick blast of water out of them. It does sometimes take me a few tries to get the top on right, but I haven't experienced any leaks so far. I use them for just plain tap water, and they sit on a desk or table. I have several of these in various sizes, and like all of them.

The title of the review kinda says it all: the water bottle works fine, but the screw top doesn't seal very well and lets your water drip out. That would be OK, except for those times when you put some sort of sports drink in the bottle, which makes the bottle a sticky mess.
I don't think that any of this is a factor of the biodegradable plastic, but just the molding process they used. |
