Product Description

Platform: PC | Edition: Bioshock Infinite Ultimate Songbird

Calling on the true patriots of Columbia: For the devoted BioShock collector and fan, the limited Ultimate Songbird Edition features a bounty of high-end memorabilia: a Handyman board game figurine, a Murder of Crows keychain, and a lithograph poster-all designed by the same Irrational Games artists who created BioShock Infinite. It also boasts exclusive in-game gear, a digital soundtrack, and an art book that offers a look at the making of the game’s unique art style. Featuring a breathtakingly detailed statue of the sentinel of Columbia, Songbird, in its own collectible packaging, this edition will have limited availability-there won’t be another like it!

Indebted to the wrong people, and with his life on the line, hired gun Booker DeWitt has only one opportunity to wipe his slate clean. He must rescue Elizabeth, a mysterious girl imprisoned since childhood and locked up in the flying city of Columbia. Forced to trust one another, Booker and Elizabeth form a powerful bond during their daring escape. Together, they learn to harness an expanding arsenal of weapons and abilities, as they fight on zeppelins in the clouds, along high-speed Sky-Lines, and down in the streets of Columbia, all while surviving the threats of the air-city and uncovering its dark secret.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Amazing Progression to the Series... March 26, 2013
Platform for Display:PC|Edition:Bioshock Infinite Ultimate Songbird
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
To sum it up, this game is amazing. Absolutely amazing. It's fascinating. It's truly gruesome. It's fun. It's unique.
The series itself is mysterious and this game is no different my friends.

This game is a masterpiece. You have to love a game that is built not to please everyone, or to appeal to the biggest demographic of the lowest common denominator. Bioware Infinite is about a development team trying to realise their creative vision. This is a very fun shooter, but by no means is it the kind of shooter that is going to inspire thousands of hours of shooting. So in some sense it is not a stella shooter, and it isn't trying to be one.

This game is not competing with Call of Duty. Nor is it a role playing game. The roles are all set. It's fairly short, its mostly linear, and its rather simply a game that focuses on Story. In many ways it is thus a pretty short, linear and LIMITED game. It's more or less a single session story-game. But WHAT a story! It's great! Bioshock Infinite creates a small world but it builds it with huge passion and care. It has so many philosophical angles and social issues oozing out of every pore, it will definitely give gamers things to think about.

The graphics are so mesmerizing, I almost forget to move on with the game play. The setting, the story, the way Elizabeth interacts with you--I am stunned and in awe--This game was fun without being frustrating in combat and challenges-- PERFECTION--PURE PERFECTION.

The mechanics are the same with some refinements but nothing mind blowing..and that's ok. The wheel didn't need to be reinvented.

Pros: -Beautiful artistic graphics and memorable soundtrack. -As atmospheric as the original Bioshock. -One of the darkest stories I have ever seden in a videogame.

3.0 out of 5 stars Details about the Ultimate Songbird Edition for PC March 27, 2013
Platform for Display:PC| Edition:Bioshock Infinite Ultimate Songbird|Verified Purchase
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This review will describe observations regarding the PC version of the Bioshock Infinite: Ultimate Songbird Edition product. In addition to the contents, I also include some observations about the initial experience of using the software. My grade of this product has to do with my satisfaction of the quality of the included content. This is not a grade of the game itself.

QUICK NOTE on the game: The game configuration options include subtitles for dialog and an adjustable field of view for those of you who get motion sickness from first person shooters. It also natively supports gamepads, displaying an Xbox 360 gamepad diagram when viewing the controller options.

As of this writing, dimensions published by Amazon are incorrect.

Height: 11 5/8 inches
Width: 9 7/8 inches
Depth: 10 inches

Weight reported by UPS: 5.50 pounds

The Ultimate Songbird Edition box ships with no outer cellophane. The top seal is rectangular and the bottom seal is circular. Both seals collapse easily into pieces when removal is attempted.

The box has 3 rectangular openings, located on the top and sides. There is a larger squarish opening on the front. These openings are not covered with colorless plastic. Instead, they expose the plastic windows of same-sized openings for the Songbird statue, encased within it's own box.

The pictures used to decorate the box show the main characters as they appear from the television commericals, but the faces of these resemblences don't match the game all that much.

Hidden behind the Songbird's box is a cardboard tray that holds all the other items in this edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally Worth it April 1, 2013
Platform for Display:PC| Edition:Bioshock Infinite Ultimate Songbird|Verified Purchase
100% Worth it. Game is amazing, figure is sculpted so well and the wings fit together so snugly. I can't begin to say enough good things about the figure. Packaging is great and your figure will not break. Artbook is small and cute, not the same as the one you can buy separately.

4.0 out of 5 stars 5-star game, 4-star Ultimate Songbird Edition May 21, 2013
Platform for Display:PC| Edition:Bioshock Infinite Ultimate Songbird|Verified Purchase
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
It's clear that the Ultimate Songbird Edition pours most of its efforts into the Songbird statue, which is a fairly marvelous sculpt of the character from the game. Every object in the Ultimate Songbird Edition is lovingly packed in boxes/materials that mimic the advertising of the time the game is set in. However, the very high price of the Ultimate Songbird Edition is bound to disappoint when you see the quality of the other items added to this edition.

- the 'Handyman board game figurine' is tiny and poorly molded.
- the Murder of Crows keychain isn't as well-made as the 'key' keychain that comes with the limited edition strategy guide, and I doubt it would hold up to actual use
- the digital soundtrack is a code you may use one time to download...and while it does contain several pieces of the music, it's also missing several tracks that I was really looking forward to having
- the art book is small, but nice. I wasn't expecting a big coffee-table tome, but larger pages (like other collectors' bundles do) would make the book more worth the expense. It is bound in a cloth cover with molded seal that adds to the tactile feel of the book, and the cover deliberately has an 'aged' look.

Apart from these drawbacks, the package is good--just expensive. Now, let's talk about the game.

The great thing about the original Bioshock is that it contained a fairly well defined story that wraps itself up neatly, beginning to end. This was the Achilles heel of Bioshock 2: in order to give us more of the same, it tried to retread familiar ground in a different way.

Bioshock Infinite represents a wonderful departure from that: there is that balance of retaining the best elements of the previous games while moving into an all-new setting and world.
