Product Description

Welcome to the city of Columbia. Floating amongst the clouds, cruising far above sea level, this is a place unlike any you've ever seen. Please enjoy your voyage...The third game in the popular Bioshock series, BioShock: Infinite breaks away from the underwater setting of the first two games to take you into a floating city held aloft by dirigibles. The game is set in 1912. You play as Booker DeWitt, a disgraced former private detective who's picked up a new case. Your goal is to find Elizabeth, a young woman who's gone missing and return her unharmed. The only problem is that she's being kept on this flying city. Columbia was once a symbol of America's success as a nation, floating around the world as a traveling World's Fair, a marvel of human innovation. But strange things have happened since Columbia's unveiling in 1900, and now the city has disappeared into the clouds. DeWitt knows how to find it, but over the years stories have been told about Columbia having unlawful heavy armament and deranged citizenry. Do not expect this to be a pleasure cruise.

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Fans of Bioshock 1 and 2 won't be disappointed. But if you've never played either one, chances are you'll like this one anyway.

To explain this one it might help to take a quick look at the first two. The Bioshock games are FPS games with a difference - you have a series of tasks that unfold in the story - find person x, reach a destination, pick up a key and so forth - that all lead to achieving the major mission objectives. The difference in this game versus others is the setting - the first two t took place in the underwater city of "Rapture" and was set in the 1950's, this one takes place in a city in the sky called "Columbia" that is set in 1912. The goal in this one is to find a girl called Elizabeth, who then allies with you as you take on various enemies. The fun part of this game is the fantastic weapons and powers you acquire as you go along (they change your body chemistry to enable them thus "bioshock"). You gain the ability to attack enemies not only with conventional weapons (a Mauser broomhandle pistol and a submachine gun) but with potions that enable you to throw fire on your enemies, to hypnotize them into attacking each other, and even to call up killer crows). The scenery changes constantly, the game play changes constantly too, you never know what to expect as you ride a cable between different parts of the city to achieve your objectives.

You are constantly picking up potions, health kits, "salts" (you need these to power your special biological powers) and silver dollars (that you use to buy ammo, health kits, and salts at the many vending machines around Columbia).

I wasn't quite sure about getting this game, but I found it on sale and gave it a chance and am glad I did. I have played through twice already and the story is really good and the gameplay excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars State of the Art Gaming August 11, 2014
I'm totally impressed with the game. The amount of professional teamwork is impressive. The game is rather lengthy which means a lot of game for the price. The graphics are great. The last battle was difficult for me and I had to use some valuable tips from YouTube to get through it. The ending is OK.
