5.0 out of 5 stars A Very Useful Guide, March 22, 2009
By

This review is from: BioShock Signature Series Guide PS3 (Bradygames Signature Series Guide) (Paperback)
The BradyGames BioShock guide provides lots of information on the storyline, inhabitants, weapons, objects, and other facts and relations of BioShock. Each section throughly goes through every part of the game, like explaining each type of Splicer and all the Plasmids and Tonics. There is a walkthrough for each level, including a map so you can view where everything is in each level.

The new edition covers both the Xbox 360 version and the PS3, showing controls for both controllers throughout the book. The guide will work fine if you own the PC version of the game, as the Xbox 360 and PC versions are exactly the same gameplay wise. The book doesn't show or talk about controls for the PC though, so if you are looking for that information just use the booklet that came in the game's case.

If you want a solid guide for BioShock, get this one. It has a very good price - even at stores ($20) - and it rivals its first release from 2007.

5.0 out of 5 stars Welcome to Rapture, December 6, 2008

I'm normally into other first person shooters such as Call of Duty and Resistance. With Bioshock, once can't just run around unless they want to die quickly.

That's the main reason I purchased the guide after I got the game. The guide is mainly (90%) about the levels. The rest of the guide is made up of weapons, characters, and items and their fuctions in the game. There's also a part about inventions that you can make. Not much else was needed.

Clear and concise, easy to follow, great for those who want to get the most out of the game. Must have if you're especially looking to get all the trophies/achievements.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bioshock Guide, January 31, 2010
This review is from: BioShock Signature Series Guide PS3 (Bradygames Signature Series Guide) (Paperback)
Keep in mind all my reviews for the strategy guides I own will be the same unless they bring something new to the table, because they are the same just for different games. So don't be upset because I cut and paste. I only do it in this for the guieds I own and I know it applies to. Thank you.

If you get stuck on games like the average person this will help you get through the rough spots. I found it very helpful, easy to read, and well put together for the most part. My only complaint is all the secrets and bonus stuff is in the back of the book. I feel it should be in the walkthrough so you don't have to go back and forth to see if you missed something. or get an item so late that it is irrelevant anymore because you got it so late its too weak. But most Guides do this so this is not the only one with this flaw. Hope that helps you out

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Addition, February 1, 2010
This review is from: BioShock Signature Series Guide PS3 (Bradygames Signature Series Guide) (Paperback)
It isn't absolutely necessary to have this guide in order to enjoy BioShock, but it does enhance the game. Especially if you enjoy going back through a game and finding all the "secrets/treasures" you may have missed the first time through. This guide is well written and easy to use.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Guide, May 10, 2010

The guide was great. Almost exactly what I wanted, which was to find all the audio diaries. The only down fall is that the guide doesnt tell you the title of each diary, so you cant easily find out which you've missed. You have to go back to each spot until you find one you didnt pick up already.

I purchased both Bioshock games and guides (from Amazon) for my grandson and these guides are excellent. I highly recommend purchasing a guide for whichever Bioshock game you have. These are very necessary and helpful to this extremely complex game.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fun weird shooter., April 12, 2009

This shooter has a plot line and gets better as it goes. A little uneven in spots, but great graphics and reliable weapons make it worth the trip. If you want to be sure about what will happen when you pull the trigger, this game is for you.
