There is a great deal of satisfaction available to an author. Good books lead a life of their own, meeting people the author has never met, sharing thoughts with people in far off places, spark¬ing ideas in others which the author may never have himself consid-ered.

Just as a person does not exist in isolation, so too, a book is not written as the product of a soli¬tary mind. This book is the result of interaction with many minds, as witness the Bibliography. Biogas is amazing. With simple technology you can convert yard waste or animal waste into natural gas. I have some friends in Guatemala that install biogas digesters for rural families so they don't burn wood indoors. (smoke from wood fires is the #1 cause of death in children under 5 worldwide)

The biogas book is written in a professional and folksy style. It has plenty of references.

I am in the process of designing a biogas machine. It would be helpful if the book also had plans for a variety of biogas digesters, but that may have to wait for The Biogas Handbook #2.

If you want to find out how much gas you can generate from a given feedstock, or if you want to compare different types of digesters, this is your book.
