Excellent insight into magnetic star,

This is an excellent Biography Program on the intriguing Gene Tierney, far better than the terrible book released a few years ago by Michelle Vogel. Following the usual format, it benefits from exerpts from interviews with Tierney's first husband Oleg Cassini, her daughter Christina and her sister Pat, as well as costars such as Richard Widmark. There are plenty of home movies too from her childhood. Since Tierney's appeal was so overwhelmingly dominated by her face, visuals are so much better than words but the script simply and poignantly tells Tierney's story. As Cassini says, "Here was a girl who had everything and was battered by fate. She was the unluckiest lucky girl in the world".
The Program is available as a special feature on the DVD of Tierney's most famous film "Laura".
