5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Bio!
This biography was one of the best I've seen. It kept me guessing to the end whether Lizzie Borden actually did the crimes or not. Here's another one that got away with murder!

3.0 out of 5 stars Comment on reviewer No. 1
The viewer from Pittsburgh, PA, is completely wrong. First, it is not certain if Lizzie commited the murders, second, she was not convicted, but acquitted. I doubt very much that he has seen the video. Oh, it's a good video, the information in it is well-researched, and it makes your mouth water for more details and facts from her life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Let's See?, October 31, 2003

This review is from: Biography - Lizzie Borden [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Motive + opportunity=...Lizzie never left the house...sent the maid for help, lizzie trapped in a house of hate...can't leave to get a job, must wait for parents to pass away to get inheritance...most likely Daddy would die 1st and Step-mom would leave her nada! Murders were overkill and personal! 11 & 19 wacks when only one was needed, using an axe. Women of this class are not believed to be capable of such a crime in 1890's so she isn't a serious suspect at 1st, and women weren't investigators at this time & men didn't investigate women's personal affects...so she has plenty of time to clean-up and hide weapon...throw it on a neighbors roof while Bridget is looking for help, possibly. How could a stranger hide in the house undetected for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, or clean-up and walk down the road in broad daylight without being seen or heard...or walk down the road covered in blood??! Look at the obvious...why did Lizzie stay in the house and send Bridget for help...did she know the murderer was not still in the house...opportunity + motive =

5.0 out of 5 stars The video borders on being a real-life horror film, December 7, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Biography - Lizzie Borden [VHS] (VHS Tape)
After seeing this video, I was so intrigued by the story of Lizzie Borden that I wrote a one-act play based on her trial. As I conducted my own research, I found that all of the information I obtained on my own was already contained in the viedo. I must say, it is one hell of a movie.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good documentary with more detailed facts., August 4, 1999

Of course Lizzie committed the crimes. Did you see the kind of life she lived? Did you see what a cheapskate her old man was? Anyone who back in the 19th century had to live without a toilet inside the house or running water, especially when her father could clearly afford it, and who had a hag for a step-mother, would surely go beserk at some point. And she did. That axe went into her father's head forty times, and the hag got just what she deserved. Great video. Go out and buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars AN INNOCENT WOMAN., October 4, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Biography - Lizzie Borden [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Only ten minutes had elapsed since her father's murder, and witnesses saw no blood on Lizzie's dress, skin, or hair. Also, a witness saw Lizzie in the yard during the time of the murders. She was aquitted in less than an hour by the jury. I believe that an intruder killed the Bordens. It is time for history to clear this much maligned and innocent woman.

alright so perhaps she didn't actually commit the murders, but I believe she ( at the very least ) knew who did! Therefor I will never believe that she was innocent. The fact is we will never know what happened that night, but by watching factual documentaries such as this one, it is interesting to imagine different scenerios. After staying in the Borden house for a night ( creepy huh ) I feel even more strongly that Lizzie had some part ( if only a small one ) of this gruesome affair.

5.0 out of 5 stars guilty as sin!, May 5, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Biography - Lizzie Borden [VHS] (VHS Tape)
anyone who very carefully researches all the objective facts of the case rather than all the speculative theories knows that it is 95% certain that it was Lizzie who wielded that hatchet. Every single thing points to her guilt. She was the female equivalent of OJ Simpson. And for all you Lizzie apologists and theorists, i hope you'll for once give just one moment of thought to this: Andrew Borden being devoured six feet under by maggots and worms while Lizzie is living it up with her actor buddies and her millions. Not a pretty picture, I know. But an accurate one.
