4.0 out of 5 stars MARIA CALLAS 101
If my recollections are correct, this video is NOT the same program that aired on A&E Biography prior to 2001 or so. That program was far more comprehensive, and included interviews with Renata Scotto and the late Beverly Sills about La Divinia's career.

This newer video is good and for the most part accurate depiction of Callas' career and personal life...

3.0 out of 5 stars COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER.
Since I really enjoy biographies and I missed this one on A&E, I picked it up and enjoyed
it, although it seemed to run very short and I felt as if I didn't really know that much more

This newer video is good and for the most part accurate depiction of Callas' career and personal life. It's the perfect introduction for anyone who is unfamiliar with her life, her voice or her career. Only one noted inaccuracy - Graziella Sciutti is shown as being "Callas's personal secretary" and this was not the case. Madame Sciutti was a well-known soubrette soprano, opera director and colleague of Callas; Callas' personal secretary was a woman named Nadia Stancioff who wrote a book about her times with Callas, and was featured in other video bios about Callas.
