Pretty good, presumably, but all Gale's references have vanished..., April 30, 2009
This review is from: Biography - Two-Rivers, E(dmund) Donald (1945-): An article from: Contemporary Authors (Digital)
The biography is pretty good, but one real annoying thing is it references and quotes many sources that do not seem to exist anywhere anymore. Makes it pretty hard to verify anything in the biography and impossible to go to any of the listed sources for more in-depth information. One example (of several) is a supposed 2001 Amazon.com interview with the Author which does not seem to exist. Multiple inquiries and follow-ups with Amazon resulted in exactly SQUAT, and the Author's publisher also has no record of any such interview.
Worst of all, the publisher of this biography, Gale, seems totally unreachable for inquiry about this. They presumably had access to it at some point to quote from it and reference the exact date of the interview (March 24, 2001). Multiple phone calls got me as far as a voice mail message box for what is supposed to be the person with the best odds of knowing anything about these biographies, where I left detailed messages with my call back number, only to result in a response of, (you guessed it) ...SQUAT.
So if Amazon, or Gale, or any other entity has ANY clue about how to locate a copy of this mystery interview (recording, hard or soft copy transcript, article, or ANY other form), please indicate where to find it by leaving another review - and many thanks!
