This is without a doubt the best textbook I have ever used (and there have been many). It has been the first textbook that I have ever been able to just sit down and read without getting bored immediately, and it doesn't even read like a textbook. Aside from the fact that it was incredibly informative, the layout was fantastic, making it super easy to take reading notes and break the chapters down when studying.

I utilized this text for my first upper division course in Biological Anthropology, and since it was a summer course (only four weeks) by necessity a lot of material was covered really fast. As a result of the fast pace this book was critical to my understanding of the subject material. It’s well written, well organized and relatively easy to understand even for those not majoring in Anthropology. I’d love to recommend this book as a resource for the foreseeable future however due to the changing nature of the field sadly most of the information will be out of date (some of it already is) in the next few years. For the time being however it is an excellent introduction for those interested in the field.

Pros: Cheaper than in school's bookstore. Has all the material needed. and it's super informative.
Cons: I compared it to a classmate's who purchased it at school and this was black and white and his was in color. All my pictures and graphs are black and white. I personally don't care, but if you're a visual/aesthetic learner and color matters, don't buy this.

I really enjoyed using this book for my Biological Anthropology Undergrad course. It gives all the needed information, but in a way that is easy to understand and encourages deeper thought into the subject. Great textbook! I wish I had purchased it instead of just renting it.

This book has come in really quite great condition, with only slight stickiness on the cover. Much better to rent than to buy

The pages were weird, as if they had been photocopied and bound together. The info was accurate, but I wouldn't buy again.
