The book does a good job of presenting the basics of bioterrorism, including the various diseases. The suggested websites are good and the suggested prescriptions are also good. There are a couple checklists for your consideration, mostly applicable to any emergency. However, the part of the title about the book being "A Personal Safety Manual" is not accurate. Mostly it just says to wait for local authorities to tell you what to do. One recommended action is to "shelter in place" but little detail is provided on how to do that. Perhaps my expectations are higher being on a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) where individuals are expected to rely almost completely on themselves for days and maybe weeks until help arrives. I'm looking for specific "to do" suggestions that enable individuals to take care of themselves. Maybe such actions are not possible for bioterrorism. I was disappointed in the book for these reasons.

Concise & to-the-point manual that gives the reader everything they need to know about Biological Terrorism--and how to be ready. I now have a clear plan of "what to do" in the event of Bio-Terrorist attack. There are lots of historical and information books out there, but this is the only one that let me know what I needed to do.

This book is a timely, concise tool to help anyone prepare for the most likely biological attacks, from anthrax to smallpox. A quick read, this practical manual showed me how to prepare an easy emergency plan for my household, and to quickly assemble the right emergency supplies. I particularly liked Section Five which outlined the steps to take to prepare for a biological attack, and Section Six which described in detail the steps to take after a biological attack has taken place. With all the anxiety we feel due to daily news of outbreaks of anthrax, and speculation by the experts about smallpox, this book helped us prepare for the worst. The peace of mind that this gave me and my family is immeasurable. I highly recommend it.

This is the third book on biological warfare I have read and by far the weakest. I felt taken advantage when I opened my package and saw a small book, with large print, that repeated basic information readily available elsewhere....

This straight-forward, easy to read manual tells you exactly what you need to know and do. With this book, you don't have to wade through pages and pages of information to get what you need to know. I would highly recommend this book to my family and friends!
