Was definitely in the condition I was expecting!

It had a lot of diagrams and pictures that are more helpful to me than textual information, since I am a visual learner.

This book is probably one of the best ones that I have come across when compared to some other introductory majors biology texts. The authors have all published more advanced textbooks in their own field of study and some have also been involved in the publication of other introductory majors texts (e.g. Campbell's). The text is fairly easy to read, though it is very dense, and the excellent pictures help to clear up many concepts. The feature investigations also help students walk through scientific experiments, so instead of just learning what the result was, they learn more about how the scientific method was applied. We used this text in my introductory classes and I had Prof. Brooker as a teacher for a genetics and recommend this book.

I am a biology major and I found this book to be very helpful. It had a lot of diagrams and pictures that are more helpful to me than textual information, since I am a visual learner. I am glad my professor chose this book.

This is one of the better college biology text books and one I wish I had when in school. It is truely a masive volume. It has nearly 1300 pages of subject text, a 51 page index and a 35 page glossary. It probably weighs 10 lbs.

Besides being very big, it is very complete in diversity, with all phyla of life on earth discussed in depth. I especially liked the chapters on Evolution.

This book is authored by; Robert Brooker, Eric Widmaier, Linda Graham, and Peter Stiling. Having more than one author is advantageous for the reason that biology is such a wide and diverse field, no one person could possible be an expert in every area.

The book is neatly divided into 60 chapters with subchapter headings. The print is a little bit small and thin to suit me, however, if it were any larger the book might be even bigger and heavier.

There are of course many full color photographs, drawings, graphs and illustrations to compliment the text.

This the second edition, 2011 version is still new enough to provide all but the most up to date material and would be suitable for all but the most advanced work in the field. Furthermore, its reduced price is cost effective for students or anyone else interested in the subject of life on earth.

This book took a little bit longer to ship than I expected. However, the condition was near new and very well maintained. I am very happy with my purchase and plan to keep this book for a very long time. It is one of the best basic Biology books I have come across and I recommend it to anyone looking for a Biology book.

Generic textbook with information that looks like it was copied and pasted from an encyclopedia. I ended up having so much trouble finding specific details because everything is all over the place.

It neither is a great textbook or an alternative to searching the web.

This is a very good book for introductory biology for science majors. It goes into detail on every important topic and it provides tests to challenge your comprehension of the subject being studied.

Great Condition, better than what my classmates paid for on Chegg.com. The texbook is very detailed and dare I say it excessive, but the suppliers are awesome.

This book is HUGE! But it is easy to read. The chapters are well organized, and its loaded with illustrations. One of the better biology textbooks out there.
