By A Customer
This review is from: The Biology of Tardigrades (Hardcover)
This book is an excellent resource for those interested in tardigrades. It is well written for a technical manual and is currently the only book avaliable on tardigrades. The book has many diagrams, pictures and descriptions.

Great book, July 21, 2007
This review is from: The Biology of Tardigrades (Hardcover)
This is a fascinating book for any curious mind. The writing is often more technical than necessary to satisfy the casual interest of a layman or amature water bear hunter. It is afterall written for those working professionally with water bears. But it is well written and well constructed so, even though I don't understand much of the more technical terminology, it's a very enjoyable read. The pictures are fantastic as well -- I especially like the SEM of a water bear with bacteria on its head. One caveat: I see that this book is selling used through Amazon for over $200. This book is still in print! Before you purchase it from any US seller, compare the price with buying directly from the publisher, Portland Press, in London. 60 pounds plus shipping. Fortunately for me, I bought it when the dollar was stronger, but you can still get it for a lot less than $200.
