Format: Audio CD
This group has GREAT compositions and arrangements in that 70s prog style known as 'canterbury' or 'prog rock'. This may not explain the deep understanding the musicians have of their own compositions. This group has gone a step further in this style. The music they composed and played here is quite theirs, and rich in harmony (horn arrangements are fantastic) and melodies that just grab you by the you know where!
Elements of mediterranean music are also present, as well as fusion (think of 70s jazz rock) influences. But this is mainly their own brew which is a kind of 'positive' and vibrant style of jazz rock with influences of prog rock of the golden era. All i can say is that's it's been a while since i enjoyed a cd in this particular style so much. Bass, guitar, drums, keys and wind instruments played by mostly unknown (to me) musicians. Recommended to fans of Phil Miller's Incahoots, Hugh hopper's Frangloband, Soft Machine, Miles Davis electric period, etc.
