A Very Good Introduction to Bioethics, July 14, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Biomedical Ethics (Hardcover)
Biomedical Ethics is a wonderful introduction to bioethical issues. The authors' styles of writing are (usually) easily understandable, and the inserted case studies make for interesting reading. More of a textbook than a "quickread".

Excellent book, Dr.Mappes was a great professor too, February 28, 2011
This review is from: Biomedical Ethics (Hardcover)
I bought the book for a philosophy class on Biomedical Ethics that the author Thomas Mappes actually taught. It's a wonderful book for the introduction into Biomedical ethics, especially since there isn't that much literature available on the subject. He was a thought-provoking teacher who didn't just rely on his book, but challenged the class to think, discuss, and debate about the issues.
