Searching for a good humidifier is a lot tougher than I thought. This unit looks good in the picture. It has a humidistat, it's digital, it's programmable etc... etc... There is just one small problem - it stopped working after about a month.

My advice to anyone looking for a humidifier is to get the simplest one you can. One that has one or two speeds, is not too loud and has a decent method of filling the tank. The one "extra" that is worthwhile is a unit that shuts itself off if there is no water left. A simple humidifier will cost you a lot less than this thing and it'll work just fine.

I don't usually write bad reviews but this one is an exception. I bought the machine two winters ago, used it for one season and did not stock up on the filters. This past winter, I tried to find new filters and could NOT find it anywhere in the world. Not in the stores, not online, not even on the bionaire and holmes websites. Amazon does not sell it, neither do all the online filter sources. If you go to bionaire.com, you can't even find the model there. So the machine is now completely USELESS.

Apart from the problem with the filters, the machine is terrible. You have to place it four feet from the walls and furniture because the water spray gets into everything. In the beginning I put it on top of a dresser and it left an ugly water stain that could not be erased. Refilling the machine is also difficult. The reservoir's opening is not very big and you need to tilt it to get it under the faucet. Which means you have to hold it as it is filling. And you cannot reach in so it's impossible to clean inside the reservoir. The worst part is the bottom pan which holds the water from the reservoir. It has to be cleaned frequently otherwise a brown moldy film will develop (the manual says to clean the pan everyday). But the pan is very shallow and has holes all around its sides. So when you need to bring it to the kitchen or bathroom to dump the water, you have to be very careful lifting and carrying it or water will spill all over.

DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT. You can't even find it on the product list at Bionaire and I cannot believe Amazon is still selling it (at $52 to boot). I gave this product 1 star, but if I could, I would give it a 0 star.

I would recommend this product for use in a 8x12 room or smaller. The wicks are expensive but no mold and very little dust.

Bought one because I had one I thought was just like it. They are different. But this one works ok for small room.

I barely had this product for a week and it just stop working. It runs, takes water but doesn't Humidify the air anymore. It's also not very quite

This is the second and last Bionaire Hunidifier I will own. This one barely meets (?) the specification for hunidifying the space. The product appears to perform but the amount of water evaporated seems paltry. Humidity cannot be maintained in the space in which I employ it, well under that specified for its use. I disassembled the unit to check the humidifier pad and found 2/3 of it "bone dry". I have only used the product for 1 month. The filter replace indicator marginally indicated the filter should be replaced.

i dont know what everyone else is talking about but this machine is great...turns on an off by itself...filter is good...water runs through it properly...humidity level works great and accurately

Works great! I use it in a small bedroom and it maintains a 50% humidity level beautifully.
