Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Save space while still enjoying the power of an oscillating fan. This streamlined fan stands just under 40 inches tall, and its high-performance centrifugal blades use very little space considering the amount of cool air they blow. A built-in 120-minute timer keeps you cool as you're falling asleep or as the day cools down, turning off automatically to save on energy costs. With three speeds to choose from, the oscillating fan cools a large area, and the motor is remarkably quiet. Five year limited warranty. --Ariel Meadow Stallings

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice design., September 5, 2001

I have the remote model and just ordered the non-remote for a dorm room. The fan is very nicely designed, taking up almost no floor space but providing a lot of air movement with a minimum of noise.

4.0 out of 5 stars BT40 fan, January 31, 2002

Lots of wind, low noise. If operated horizontally, it makes noise
as the shaft moves back and forth. Angle needs to be 5 or 10 degrees away from 90.

1.0 out of 5 stars Why are there no quiet fans???, December 1, 2002

I purchased 3 of these fans and two of them made an annoying plastic on plastic clicking sound right out of the box. Somewhere inside, the tall vertical blades were touching something as they spun. The third fan I had was nice and quiet for a few months before it too started making that same annoying sound. The first two I was able to return, but not the third.
This clicking sound might not bother most people, but if you have this fan in a bedroom or any other similarly quiet spot, it will become plastic torture.
I say avoid this one if you are looking for a quiet, bedroom, white noise fan, or else buy it somewhere you can drive it to return instead of unpacking and repacking.

1 star!
