With its combination of radiant and convection heat, this digital heater from Bionaire gets the immediate area toasty while simultaneously warming the whole room. The heater uses ceramic-steel technology and a dual-scroll fan system to distribute warm air widely. It features a nonglowing heating element and a slim panel design that fits tidily against a wall. The two heat settings--750 and 1,500 watts--work in conjunction with the digital thermostat for precise temperature control. Setting modes include low, high, fan, and auto. In auto mode, the heater cycles on and off automatically to maintain the desired temperature. The digital display on top of the heater shows programming mode, desired temperature, and current temperature. It also features a glowing nightlight that comes on automatically in the dark. The nightlight can be shut off manually. This heater is simple to program, and the unit returns automatically to the most recent setting when you turn on power. Bionaire builds in three levels of safety protection: a thermal motor fuse, automatic safety shutoff, and tip-over protection. A carrying handle and a cord wrap simplify transport and storage. Made for floor use only, the heater is not suitable for small rooms, like baths and laundry rooms. Bionaire includes a two-year warranty. --Emily Bedard

I am very disappointed with this heater. It sounded like a great product. I needed something to use occasionally in our family room which is located in our basement and thought this might be the perfect item. Upon using it however, I found that little heat is produced by it and the temperature never got above 67.
