5.0 out of 5 stars In spite of some problems, this is still a good game.
We REALLY liked this game, even though it is a little tough, but once you've played it, all other Lego games will seem SUPER easy! There are some drawbacks to this game, though, such as:

1.0 out of 5 stars Note the graphics card requirements
Unless you understand the graphics card requirements, do not purchase this game. I bought it for my son, who loves the bionicles. After days of anticipation, I couldn't get the game running on any of the three computers in my home; and they are all fairly new computers (512 mb ram, etc.). This was a bad move on my part and there is very little support available on the...

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Bionicle: The Game (CD-ROM)
We REALLY liked this game, even though it is a little tough, but once you've played it, all other Lego games will seem SUPER easy! There are some drawbacks to this game, though, such as:

1. As other reviewers have said, the controls are hard. This is why: The camera turns itself to show you what you are supposed to be looking at, and when you press the forward key, you go in the direction THE CAMERA IS POINTING. For example, at the end of the Gali Nuva level, you have to fight a Bohrak in a sort of "whirlpool arena." There is health around the outside of the arena, but when you try to get to it, the camera follows the rolling Bohrak and you find yourself walking around in a circle instead.

2. Almost ALL of the voices are WRONG. Takua sounded like they got a ten-year-old to do him, and the way Pohatu talked reminded me of Cookie Monster! ("Onua, my friend! Can I have a cookie?")

3. I think it was not right the way Takua kept telling the Toa what to do. In the movie, he was the helpless little Matoran he should have been, but this game makes it seem like the Toa would never get anything done without his help!

There may be a few things I missed, but even if I find out what they are, I'm not going to list them because I will still think this is a REALLY GOOD GAME!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun but with errors in Bionicle Facts, May 30, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Bionicle: The Game (CD-ROM)
This game is fun but has horrible saving abilities, like, you beat a hard level, and save the game. Next time you get on the game, its not saved anymore. If you are a Bionicles fan, and know lots about the saga of Bionicle, you will find that this game has barely 20 facts about Bionicle correct. What is IN the game besides the facts and the saving is the environment and what you have to do in the game. This is what makes it worth getting. One of the incorrect facts is the names of some of the Bionicles.

My son got this for Christmas. He loves Bionicle and was thrilled with this. It is hard, but he enjoyed the challenge of finding his way though the different levels.

5.0 out of 5 stars FUN BUT HARD GAME, July 25, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Bionicle: The Game (CD-ROM)
At first when I bought this game off the internet I figured it would be very fun so I started to play right away. The good things about this game is that it is fun and challenging, but some parts can be very hard like at the end of Gali Nuva you are trapped in this small little water chamber with bohrok that part is hardest to beat. The bad things are the controls are very weird and sometimes you can't point your bionicle in the direction you want him/her to.There is also another problem there are only three slots to save games in. I got stuck on the brown bionicle for about a month or two and couldnt figure anything out but once you figure out what you are supposed to do it gets fun. At the end of the game when you finally play with the seventh toa against makuta it is pretty easy if you are used too the graphics and controls. So once you get used to this game it is very, very, very,VERY fun.If you like bionicle legos this is definately the game for you.I definitley recommend this game for lego lovers.

This review is from: Bionicle: The Game (CD-ROM)
My mother, whom this account belongs to bought this game for me when it first came out. My brother and I had been die hard Bionicle fans since Lego first came out with the popular toys. We had been scrambling for information on the game ever since we saw the first preview on the internet. It looked like it would be like the game Lego was first going to put out for Bionicle, but for reasons unknown canceled the game to many people's dismay. But anyway, back to the game. When I first got it, I was so excited and started playing it immediatly. The first thing I realized was it was made by EA games. Most of the EA games we've owned have had terrible graphics and terrible story lines except for the LOTR game, which was fairly fun in my rating. The second thing was how difficult and confusing the controls were and were making it immposible to fight and never the less, move. That didnt stop us though, so we played it until the game began to get choppy due to our older computer and gaming card. Then we stoped playing it for about 2 years. This summer I picked it up again for reasons unknown to me and I worked my way through a whole lot easier after I configured the controls to my liking. But alas, the game's storyline and dialouge was no better then the begining and after I finished the final level, which by the way, threw the whole game down and made it seem like it wouldnt be amusing for even a 7 year old, and thought to myself, why did I waste my time on that? If Lego had used it's own game making tecniques, this game would have been about 20 times better. Also, there were so many facts about the Bionicle world that was wrong, I couldnt believe it and thought that Lego itself should have done a much better job editing and making this the game they said it would be.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bionicle: What it lacks in addiction, it makes up for in graphics., March 30, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Bionicle: The Game (CD-ROM)
For one of the first times lego re-did a game, instead of making a sequal to it. The oringinal bionicle games were matoran adventures and bionicle the game (Same title, different gameplay). The new one is flashy, loud, easy at some times, hard at times, and dull. The music is nice, but extremly repetitive and gets annoying after, say, the five millionth time it's played. Yawn. And all the creature have unfair advantages, like laser tails, heat-seeking poision gas, flight, etc. Ouch. And the "bonus content" isn't anything to get excited over. It's mainly advertisements for toys that were released several months before. Just another marketing ploy. The game is virtually an interactive advertiesment for all of the bionicle sets from the bohrok to the matoran. Ack. Spending thirty bucks for an advertisement isn't exactly the tastiest cup of tea for gamers. If you like things that advertise toylines in a "fun" (Ugh) way get this game. If not, pass this game by and skip right on to lego Xtreme Stunts.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not fun at all, January 2, 2004
This review is from: Bionicle: The Game (CD-ROM)
This game was purchased for my 10-year-old brother who loves Bionicle, but even he got sick of the game in less than 10 minutes. The control of the character is horrible; you can never get the character to go in the direction you want him to. It took us five minutes just to make him face forward.

I am an avid adventure gamer, and enjoy and have mastered many previous games, (Like The Mummy, Nancy Drew, etc) but I have yet to encounter a "problem-solving" situation in the Bionicle game. It's enough just to get your character over the first pit of lava. It's frustrating, and no one wants to even attempt to play anymore.
