This game was created by and in the same format as those who created lego star wars. Thinking that is the base it should be good. It isn't. The character remains locked to the side of the screen. In an effort to make it like an FPS while keeping all the stuff that made SWL good doesn't work. The movement of the character in the environment gave me a headache.
You basically just go around and shoot shoot shoot with no real purpose. There is an auto aim and autolock on firing. Some of the weapons each of the bionicles has varies in speed, damage, and function. This is nice and the fact that you have five hearts and when you lose them you lose one of the masks and bionicle characters and his weapon and his force like "constracting" ie constructing force like ability. The environments aren't graphically bad but I think the whole bionicle thing doesn't work as well as other regular lego figures. The first bionicle game had less relation to construction but it was an ok game and not hard to move around in and tylenol requiring. The only problem with that one was annoying repetitve tasks where if you messed up you did it again and again. Anyway, rent it, borrow it from your library like I did, or anything before you spend the money on it, even if you are a fan. Also, you do need a better graphics card but it it can play lego star wars then you should be fine I think with the pixel shading.

Not the best game,
A Kid's Review

This game has its pros and cons. Unfortunately, there are more cons than pros.
If you're in a middle class family with a computer that's three or four years old, this is not the game for you. The game demands high-speed processors, lots of RAM, and a fast video card. Otherwise, it very choppy (how does 9 or 10 frames per second sound?). The graphics can be good or bad, depending on how you look at it. In my opinion, they're good, but I've seen better. If you're a big BIONICLE fan, such as I am, you will notice the story line is very inaccuate and hard to follow. For those of you who aren't even BIONICLE fans, don't buy this game. You'll still be wondering what the heck a "Piraka" is by the end of the game. The cutscenes are like something out of loony toons. 5-year old humor and very weird. As far as gameplay goes, it's painfully repetitive. Even a hard-core shooter game fan would get bored of this by their fourth level. The only thing that changes are the bosses and the environments. LEGO, you're better off sticking with the plastic toys you sell today.

Same issue with the lack of Pixel Shader support. Ordered for my son as a Christmas gift before above comments were posted. I've read that even with a proper graphics card, your computer may not run it because your Intel graphics chipset doesn't support TnL (Transform and Lighting). Package was opened of course. Still possible to at least get a credit? I don't think these graphics requirements were posted by Amazon.

I got this game for Christmas. Make sure you have pixel shader 1.1 before you buy this game. Others are having issues with the game because they don't have pixil shader 1.1.
The game's graphics are good, but the sound gets boring. In Hero Mode(When you turn gold) the same song playes over and over again. The gameplay is repetitive, and you will finish this game very quickly. Overall, this is a pretty good game, especially for inexperienced gamers.

It's too bad the information is inadequate. I have a GeForce4 MX 4000 graphics card, but it won't run the game because I don't have pixel shader 1.1, and you can't simply download this! Consequently, I have a disappointed child on Christmas Day. I wish the pixel shader requirement was more prominently advertised. Since there is no option for zero stars, which is what I'd give it, not having installed it successfully, the stars here indicate nothing!

If you're a fan of anything--and i mean REALLY a fan--you will do almost anything for _______ (you can fill that in). In other words, no matter what people say about this game (including myself) if you are a Bionicle FAN you will ultimately buy this game.
The reason? um....JustCause? I am also a Bionicle fan (hugely so. I remember when it first came out--10 years ago!) so you can rest assured that this review is honest. Yes, this game is probably not your Unchartered 2: Among Theives, but the casual gamer may find it a bit intriguing--the fan will find it fun--but serious gamers STAY CLEAR! The main reasons are these: The graphics are not poor, but they are not the best either. The music is OK, but I have heard much better. It is much too easy and way too long (probably to try to make up for the too easy part) making it a snoozefest for most (including myself. i can only stand to play a chapter a day--which brings up another issue--autosave. you got to hate it--but what makes it worse is that THERE IS NO WAY TO SAVE IN THE MIDDLE OF A MISSION! PLAY IT ONLY WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WILL NOT BE INTERRUPTED! DON'T GO THROUGH WHAT I DID!) For the fan: this game is highly based off the Bionicle universe, but little on the story. simply put, almost all the characters in the Bionicle universe are here BUT THEY ALL DON'T HAVE A PUPROSE TO THE STORY IN THE GAME. THEY ARE JUST THERE FOR NO APPARANT REASON. though the game doesn't appear to have much story either.... Now, for the good qualities (yes, there are some). The cutscenes are absoluetly hilarious, as well as the Piraka playground (but you may need a sense of humor to appreciate that, lolz!) The most positive thing about the game, however, is the scoring. You are awarded by what you do (kill 50 Visorak with Jaller, make 100 golden Constractions with Hewkii...ect). I HATE games that give you a goal and you strive so hard to achieve it--this game, you DON'T KNOW WHAT THE GOALS ARE SO YOU MUST CONSTANTLY EXPERIMENT. IT TEACHES PEOPLE TO THINK A LITTLE OUTSIDE THE BOX. Also, fans will note the weapons upgrades are tools used by the former Toa Metru. Pretty cool, huh? On a last note, this game is for the Fans, by the fans. Casual gamers may also enjoy it somehwhat, but the serious gamer shouldn't look at it more than once--it would be stepping outside of his universe, why should he. But for the serious gamer/Bionicle fan--well--that's a personal story... :)

The requirements listed for this game are bologna. I have a fairly decent computer and this game locked up almost immediately.
Make sure you have a really good computer or you will be very disappointed. In this case, it was my children who were disappointed. ----------------------- My computer specs: Single core 2ghz AMD processor (Don't even try this game without a dual core) Nvidia 8400 GS video card with 248 MB onboard memory 2 GB of ram on main system. Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit ---------------------- This computer isn't a gaming machine, but it hasn't had any problems with any other game we've tried but this one. That includes many newer games. ---------------------- Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone since it's impossible to know exactly what is required to run it. Save your time and money. You will save yourself from frustration & breaking little hearts.

This game has entertained my son for many hours. The robots blast each other into lego pieces, moving through a complicated maze of tunnels accompanied by a stirring sound track that sounds like the heroes have arrived. It's action packed without any meaningful violence.

Don't ever UNINSTALL this game,

My son really enjoyed playing this game. Unfortunately, as games get bigger and bigger, we ran out of space on the hard drive. In order to make room to install a new game (Heroes is BIG), we went through the uninstall routine. Knowing this wouldn't be a permanent solution, I then added another hard drive. Naturally he wanted Heroes back on the PC, but it won't install. I've checked the hard drive for anything which might not have gotten deleted, and I've searched through the registry with any key I can think of which might pertain to the game (and I indeed did find things to remove). Nothing works -- you go to install, and after a screen or two it asks if you want to UNINSTALL the game. Say yes, and get an error. Say no, process ends. Stalemate. I've contacted the people who make the game, and as is typical, they're of no help -- the only things they can suggest is what I've already tried. Someday I imagine I'll have to wipe the drive and reload it -- in which case we'll be able to install the game once again. (And THIS time we won't do an uninstall until it's no longer wanted.) BEWARE (for the sake of the kids)!
