I am using this text to teach statistics at a large public University level. This is my first time with this text, and although only half way through the book, I find it is very well written and interesting. I believe that anyone who can add subtract, multiple and divide can learn statistics from this book. The text introduces fundamental concepts at a level anyone can understand, and then leads the reader to progressively more complex but practical applications using mostly real data from biology and medicine. One of the great advantages of this text is the impressive number of problems for every section. As the problems become more complex, the reader is still asked question that reinforce the fundamentals and the take home message. A students solutions manual has the answers and solutions to the odd problems, which is also very useful. Although, not a major selling point for me, the print, binding, font, layout, etc are all excellent. I've given this book a critical eye, and thus far can find no major criticism and plenty to praise.

Explains the concepts clearly with ample illustrations. One of the best textbooks for a grad level Biostatistics course.

The book was in fairly decent shape, aside from the fact that several important reference tables were missing from the center of it. The tables were the primary reason I purchased the book, as they are absolutely mandatory if one is going to conduct any z, t, or chi-square statistic. I have now resorted to using the book for some of the problems and having to google the statistics for individual problems, which is terribly inconvenient. Needless to say, I'm extremely disappointed.

I have just completed my Biostatistics class and received an A by using this textbook. This is very concise, informative and easy to read.

I couldn't make heads or tails of this book... not enough practical application and way too much inconsequential detail. Other students complained about its format too. I found better information using Google searches.

The book was neatly packaged and looked new when opened. It arrived at my home with a reasonable amount of time and before the start of school. Thanks for everything.
