Great Lab Resource,

I use this book in my molecular biology course and it is well put together, with easy to follow procedures. The manual starts out with the basics (safety, keeping a lab journal, using equipment, measuring, plus some simple experiments),and progress to more complex experiments (cloning, RFLP analysis, western blotting, PCR, for example). The early lab activities can be used to give students a basic grounding in molecular techniques,and the later ones can be used as mini-research projects. The sidebars explain details that help students understand the "whys" of the experiments.The labs pretty much stand on their own, so instructors can pick and choose as needed.
