Biotene Water Additive is an enzymatic brushless oral solution for dogs that freshens breath as it reduces plaque build-up on the dog's teeth. I was originally given this by my vet dentist, she actually trained an additional 5 years for dentistry. This was after my poor dog lost a lot of teeth due to severe periodontal disease. I assume if she gave it to me this must be good so I ordered more thru amazon as I hear it is more expensive thru a vet. To anyone whose dog has bad breath please beware that is not normal and you cannot cure that at home, I know because I learned the hard way, get the pet to a vet. But in between and aftercare I will keep using this, my other dogs won't let me get much teethbrushing done.

I have been using this for about four months on my two dogs. One a German Shorthaired Pointer and the other a Bischon. It is recommended that you brush your dogs teeth at least 3 times a week. I brush their teeth once a week now that I am using this water additive. Great for my small dog as he does not drink much, but my pointer is very active and thirsty, so I go through the additive like crazy. Between brushings I feel that the additive keeps my dogs from having bad breath. I do not notice any new plaque build up. We also got the bischon from the dog pound and at his initial check up at our vet I was told he would need to have his teeth cleaned. Took him back for an appt. three months later and the tech who cleans teeth said that his teeth looked great and to keep up the additive and brushing. I was paying too much for the additive when I was purchasing it from the vet, so I now purchase it online.

I did not think this would work for my dogs bad breath or teeth, but it actually works. Time will tell if it starts removing her plaque but anything of an improvement is better than nothing. I might buy another one after this is gone.

Cats drink it!

Its a good thing this was enclosed in a plastic bag because the inside of the bag was all wet like it had leaked. Other than that i am satisfied with the product.
