I made a mistake buying this product. I figured since it was so expensive it had to be better but in fact, nothing good came from this. I got a bad case of diaherea and other intestinal problems that started several hours after I started using it. Then I stopped for a week and it went away. I tried it again and the same problem occured again.

I have never had this problem with resveratrol before. Shame on me for getting fooled by the marketing. They would not let me return it because I opened it. I feel like I got cheated on a product that cost 3 times as much as it should.

expensive, not any better than other resveratrol brands. and take a look at these so-called reviewers giving 5 stars for this. Their only products reviewed are this one!

There are warnings on the internet that some Resveratrol products can cause diaherra and stomach cramping. I ordered two bottles of this from Amazon and that's what happened to me....

I found this product to be a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. Shame on me for believing all the false advertising behind it. For resveratrol, it is dramatically over priced and it did not live up to any of the claims that it made.

I have used other brands of resveratrol that actually worked!

I have learned not to buy the cheapest of stuff in general so I was really shocked to see what a poor product this was. The only thing I got for my trouble was an empty wallet and a bad case of Diarrhea that kept comming back when I re-tried the product. After they told me that I could not get a refund, I would prefer to have give zero stars if I could have.

After watching a TV show on Discovery channel about the benefits of Reservatrol, I've decided to start taking pills.

For the 1st weeks, I had a little stomachache that started to increase. So, I decided to stop taking the pills for a few days and no longer felt the pain.

Then, I've resumed taking the pills and had stomachaches again, so I decided not to take it anymore. I had not noticed any improvements, but it's hard to judge since I have not taken more than a couple weeks straight.

I used the product just as instructed by their website. I made sure it was a hour before or after any meal. I took a high quality Fish oil (Kirkland)20 minutes before taking the pill. I am only taking 1 tablet daily and I am 290lbs so according to their site I should be taking more. I have pretty much had diarrhea every time I have taken it. I have been taking my regimen of 1 multi 1 vit D 2000mg 2 calcium 3 Kirkland fish oils daily for 3 years with no effects. The research I have found is that the ingredient Emodin is the culprit. So why there are so many consumers suffer from diarrhea?
Resveratrol is very safe and will not bring any uncomfortable to human body. The reason why consumers suffer from diarrhea is they take an unpurified resvaratrol from Japanese knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum Sieb also called Hu Zhang). Japanese knotweed has an ingredient called Emodin.

Emodin is a component which will bring you into diarrhea trouble. Normally, there are 5% to 7% Emodin content in 50% resveratrol product which is extracted from Japanese knotweed. There are some factories who can reduce Emodin to be only 1% content or less.

Who can reduce the Emodin? Who can reduce a risk of diarrhea problem? No matter how high or how less the emodin is, you will meet the diarrhea problem as long as emodin is still present. Not everyone will meet a diarrhea problem even he receives a content of emodin into their body since different people have different sensitivity to emodin. The best way to avoid diarrhea problem is to choose non emodin resveratrol product or a resveratrol which is extract from Grape Skin. There is no emodin present in raw grape skin. So, you don't need to worry about diarrhea problem, just enjoy the benefits resveratrol.

Our Bioforte product has 250mg of bio-enhanced "Trans-Resveratrol" per all-vegetable Pfizer capsule. The remaining 250mg consists of the other forms of Resveratrol including glucosides of Resveratrol, Polydatin, Emodin and other beneficial compounds naturally found in the Polygonum Cuspidatum plant.


So it would appear that Edomin is the culprit. I just wish I had done a bit more research. Anybody who wants 2 unopened bottles let me know because Amazon won't let me return the 2 bottles because my window expired on 5/1/10 on a 3/13 order. I think I will give Amazon a rest and shop elsewhere.

I was curious what the most expensive resveratrol would do for me and that ended up being a big mistake. It just seems to be a lot of false claims on an overpriced product. What is really upsetting is that it did absolutely NOTHING to help me. For the high price, I did get plenty of Diarrhea so I guess they should get one star for that.

With my other resveratrol, I got some nice results and did not have any intestinal problems.

Good luck trying to get your money back once you open it! I am just another casulaty of this scam product.

I gave 5 stars for resveratrol, not for this brand of resveratrol. I have used resveratrol since Aug 2010 and have found it has helped my knees tremendously. No more pain in these arthritic knees! I researched before ordering and saw that so many people had problems with diarrhea, etc after taking resveratrol. I decided to give it a try, but ordered micronized resveratrol. NO STOMACH PROBLEMS! Two sources I found were RevGenetics and Solleone Health Systems. There may be others, but products from both of these companies are made in the USA, which is a plus in my opinion. Good luck!

I initially purchased Biotivia resveratrol (250 mg) with some reservation due to posts about diarrhea, cramping, etc. I am taking it the following way: put a small amount (one third-half of tablespoon) of one to one mixture of Omega3 oil and Extra virgin olive oil (if you don't like the taste of fish oil, just skip it and use a bit of olive oil). I usually take it first thing in the morning or one hour before or after breakfast. Making an interval between resveratrol and a meal is recommended by Biotivia. Here are my observations:
1. First couple of days: Several hours after taking resveratrol, my head felt as if blood circulation was re-directed there to a larger degree. It was not an unpleasant feeling, just a feeling of warmth. I did not have diarrhea, but went to the bathroom perhaps slightly more often the first day or two. No cramping. At one point my stomach did feel uneasy, but the situation was fixed with a simple glass of milk.
2. Upon continuing for about 40-50 days on it, I say that the results are exceeding my expectations: I lost about 5 lb that were extra, despite the fact that I feel hungrier and certainly don't eat less.
3. The level of energy is also elevated, and you get the feeling of being a bit more youthful, which is great. I had shoulder pain for a year or so, and now it is largely gone plus I have an increased shoulder mobility. Interestingly, the sexuality improved as well. I did not have any negative effects on my blood pressure.
4. My wife commented on how much fitter I looked and she wants to start on resveratrol as well.

My conclusion is that resveratrol in my case did something to my body metabolism which had very discernible positive effects. I will highly recommend to try it.

This is the item I have used for many months maybe over a year now after I shifted to it from the brand I was introduced to about resveratrol two years ago by our local Sunrise Health Food Store in Lansing Ill. It was lower in dosage and much more expensive. So I went to Amazon and this brand was the one I chose. Ive stuck to it for the
1.strength which is twice dosage than the one from the store
2. the reasonable sustainable price. I take 1 pill a day so the whole bottle gives me about two months use. Go figure how much a day it costs me. Not bad.
3. It complements the benefit I get from taking a whole host of other supplements daily like the cQ10. Resveratrol I have confidence is responsible for keeping my energy up all day until I decide to sleep at night. So I take it in the morning after breakfast. I do skip one day a week to rest my system from supplements so the body does not enter a plateau so it even stretches my use of the item to over 60 days. Its essentially an anti-oxidant and heart protective as well. And there are some write ups about it that its also contributing to maintaining weight with healthy diet and exercise.
So basically you have to be convinced first of the benefit of this little pill from your research. Then you have to take it over time to find out if it works for you.
Supplements like resveratrol do cost money so you must decide for yourself what you can afford not only for a month or two but over a long period of time something you can sustain to have so you will know if it has really made a difference in your wellness goal.
I was almost tempted to try the next higher dose of this same brand the 500mg but nah! I changed my mind. Its money down the drain for me knowing this dose I'm using is already working for me. Im Asian and I'm petite so I would just be overdoing it. My rule of thumb take supplements the cheapest and highest quality you can afford over a long long time at least six months for starter so that you can objectively say it is of benefit to you.
I hope this helps those still figuring out whether to use it or not.
