4.0 out of 5 stars Bipolar 101 July 6, 2009

Bipolar 101: A Practical Guide to Identifying Triggers, Managing Medications, Coping with Symptoms, and more
This book was an excellent resource put together in an easy to read format for anyone who has Bipolar or any family and friends who want to learn more about the disease. It contains excellent website resources, easy to understand references on medications, and charts (that you can personalize or design using a spreadsheet like Excel) that chart your moods by triggers, for example. On these points alone I would highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended March 23, 2010
Format:Paperback
I try to make it a point to read all the books I can find about bipolar disorder. I was diagnosed 7 years ago as type 2. Its something you can never stop learning about. So when this book came out I checked it out at the library. I have since purchased it I like it so much. It offers everything anyone who was or knows someone who was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder could ever hope to know as of now. It has all the basics and then goes into more specifics. It offers great resources to continue your education on the subject and help make a life of living with bipolar disorder so much easier.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good choice on first hearing of the diagnosis November 6, 2010
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
An excellent book on the practical aspects of day-to-day coping with bipolar disorder. This book is a good choice on first hearing of the diagnosis. The advice comes first hand as Dr. White herself learned to cope with bipolar disorder. It covers the fundamental issues of getting treatment, taking medication, identifying triggers, reducing stress, getting good sleep and more. I am particularly pleased to see education emphasized along with medication and psychotherapy as one of the "three strategies of treatment." We have come a long way since the dark ages of mental illness. Books like this help us to continue that progress.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice easy to undestand bi-polar book February 20, 2013
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I am a counselor always looking for new bi-polar books with basic info for cliets diagnosed bi-polar. Especially a good guide to one recently diaignosed. It's hard to find an easy read, not too bulky book on such mood disorders. I recommend it to clients and often structure our first few sessions around it. You can never, ever have too much on bi-polar disorder.
