5.0 out of 5 stars Great stuff, January 25, 2009

I bought some of this at a sewing expo a few years ago, and it's wonderful for tracing out patterns (like the Kwik Sew patterns that are printed on heavy paper, or the Jalie patterns: you can trace off the exact size you want, or any sewing patterns that you need to adjust to fit properly). It drapes much better than paper, and you can sew it. It's heavier in weight than the tissue paper that the big pattern companies use, so it's also a little bit sturdier for paper pattern fitting, and it's sheer enough that if you're tracing a pattern with strong lines, you can do so at the kitchen table with a light overhead instead of using a window for a light table. I'm fully planning on buying more when I run out. Oh, and a 10 yard roll lasted me about a year (though it does depend on how much you use, and how often you sew).

5.0 out of 5 stars Best for tracing, October 1, 2009

This is by far the best tracing material for patterns I have ever used. It is sewable and much easier to make adjustments for your figure type. The pattern you trace can be used again and again without deteriorating.

This stuff is amazing, now that I have discovered it I never want to be without it. It's great for copying patterns out of books, or copying any patterns you want to preserve. Its much easier to work with then traditional tracing paper or the tissue paper style patterns. It drapes beautifully and is sheer enough to trace easily. It is also perfect for making your own patterns. And its durable enough to use over and over again. It took me about 6 months to go through my first roll and now I am stockpiling it so there isn't a chance that I ever run out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Stuff, June 10, 2010

Swedish Tracing Paper is a fantastic value and is a tool that I consider absolutely necessary for sewing pattern alteration and fitting. Even if you don't need to make alterations, use the tracing paper to trace your patterns before you cut them out so that you always have a copy of your master patterns.

I'm very happy with my purchase of sewable Swedish tracing paper. So far I have used it for tracing patterns. I have no doubt that it would be great to actually sew it, but I have not yet tried that. I will most certainly buy it again.

I am starting to sew again after many years, and I decided I hate the paper patterns come on. So now I just spend a little time tracing the pattern pieces onto this, and it is much easier to work with. I also use it for resizing vintage patterns. Now if only I could find a method I like to transfer my pattern to the fabric...

Fantastic alternative to pattern drafting with muslin. Simply drape or draft your pattern with Birch St. Tracing paper and use as your master pattern after you mark all necessary adjustments. Thank you!! Great shipping and well packaged!

I have only had experience with the "tissue paper" that normally comes with patterns, so was pleasantly surprised when I got this. It's more a fabric, and is in comparison very strong. At times it even "sticks" to the fabric (fleece is one), making me not need pins.

Exactly what I was looking for. Thick but still sheer to see patterns below for easy tracing! I love that I don't have to destroy original patterns!
