Good Product, March 30, 2010

I bought this to touch up a deer barrel, and if directions are followed, and I don't rush it, the results are very acceptable. I think you would get a little better job in a hot blue tank, but this is very nice especially for the buck (the $ not the animal)
The results from the stock refinishing depends greatly on preparation, and patience. If you prepare the stock ahead, sand lightly, wet and resand to raise grain-dents-and the little burrs your results will be what you'd like. Again don't rush it, you'll only be dissappointed.
I think their product does what it is designed to do very well. My old shotgun stock looks almost new, maybe better than new as the oil finish pleases more than the original finish. You moght want to get some more grades of paper, and steel wool as the supplied amount does not consider the fact one may mess up the first second or maybe third time because they rushed.
It must have something going for it, Birchwood-Casey has been around as long as I remember, when my rememberer is working. Dan
