got an old H&R break action shot gun used at the local gun shop for 60$$. the stock was real ugly and torn up, everything else works great. so i got the gun stock kit and did what it said to do in the little manual. it worked great looks brand new.i also used it on the necks of my Ibanez S470 and Jackson dk2m guitars, wicked sweet!

Follow the supplied instructions and supplement them with the tons of info on stock refinishing you can find on the web, and you will produce some nice results with this kit. It takes TIME and PATIENCE.
It took two weeks and ten THIN coats of the Tru-Oil on a bolt action rifle stock, but I could hand this gun to most any average gun enthusiast and they would not notice that the wood had been redone.
You will probably need to buy some extra sandpaper to do a good job, but other than that it's all in the kit.
PROTIP: If I did it over again, I would only use one coat of the stain. It doesn't look like its coloring the wood very much, but the Tru-Oil darkens the wood nicely on its own.

I have used birchwood casey products for over twenty years,refinishing rifle stocks,wood gun grips,presentation cases,etc. work in a clean dust free room for best results,give each coat time to cure. The more time and coats you put into a stock, the better it will look,follow instructions.
