Bird3's self-named collection is a vibrant breath of fresh rock 'n roll air that smartly combines the contemporary wit and edge of bands like Foo Fighters and Smashing Pumpkins with the timeless energy and spirit of classic artists like The Who and Neil Young. Produced by Nick DiDia (Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots) with Richard Dashut (Fleetwood Mac and Matthew Sweet) and Bird3, the album features beautiful and powerful songs including the optimistic opening track "Fit", the memorable first single "Mess" and the touching standout "Glow".
Bird3 is Bird on vocals and guitar, Greg Coates on bass and backing vocals and Michael Miley on drums and backing vocals.

what a shame,

I first heard Bird3 during "National Lampoon's Van Wilder", and immediately fell in love with their song "Forgot your name". After painstakingly going through the song credits on the Van Wilder DVD, I was able to find out that the song I had heard was "Forgot your name". I then purchased this CD and boy was I surprised. The melodies and catchiness in each and every song are undeniable. I am also impressed by the variety Bird offers on tracks ranging from the heavy, catchy "Mess" to the slow, album ending "Fighter". The bass on "Take it Easy" is enough to make anyone give praise, while the premise behind "Research Man" is chillingly eerie. Bird even comes off sounding amazingly similar to the Foo Fighters on their low to high ballad "Dry". All in all, this is probably one of the best modern rock CDs I've heard. So where is Bird3 now, you ask? Well I was wondering the same thing, so I looked all over the web to try to find some info on what happened to these guys, and sadly, it seems that they've fizzled due to Immergent Records' inability to give their album appropriate promotion. It's really a shame, since the trio of Bird, Miley, and Coates seemed to have incredible chemistry. Oh well, we'll always have this CD to remember them by.

Bird3 has landed!,

There are not many cd's I can just pop in and let play from start to finish, but this is one I can! I have listened to this album at least thirty times already and I wake up in the middle of the night singing some of the songs. The production is big and friendly with just enough rough edges. Songs like "Forgot Your Name", "Girl Next Door", "Mess" and "Research Man" will light you up! And, "Tongue Tied" will just melt in your mouth. These guys are solid and will have quite a ride.

Why aren't they famous yet?,

I first encountered Bird3 opening for Veruca Salt the summer of 2001. That band had put their faith into Bird and so have I. We fell in love with them all together. This band has successfully combined infectious pop hooks with soul-baring lyrics to create something unique, beautiful, and far from most of the trite pop or rock music you hear on the radio today. You'll find yourself not only humming along, but holding this music close to your heart at your most intimate moments. You will not once regret buying this piece of art.
