As a gardener, I have always wanted a gazing ball, but they can be pretty expensive. Amazon ran this one on sale, in blue, for $16.49. It really is 10 inches in diameter, as advertised, and made in the Czech Republic, not China. The glass is beautiful and is a shade between pale and middle powder blue. At this price, it would make a terrific gift for any gardeners you know; it's not too soon to be thinking about Christmas. It came bubble wrapped and double boxed. This item qualified for super saver shipping (for purchases totalling over $25).

I bought the blue gazing ball and it is beautiful. Has nice weight to it that when handling it your not afraid that it will crack. I am in the processing of purchasing a red one for my sister.
