Our 8 month old Congo African Grey, a bird of considerable intelligence and wit, absolutely loathes this CD.He is not alone. An absurd compilation of 91, mostly frivolous, non-parrot-useful phrases, it should have, indeed would have been returned, post-haste save for some Christmas distractions and loss of packaging.
Included amongst the insipid offerings: "I'm early, where's the worm?"; "How's your portfolio?"; "I hate my HMO" [I swear!]...and "MOOOOO." That's right "MOOOOO"???
There are, apparently an entire series of these "Teach My Bird To Talk" CDs. Based upon the insights provided by the 1st of these, I would strongly advise against purchase of this item. As we learned too late, there are much better products available.

These CDs seem quite the success in our local pet store! They are easy to use, and come with more phrases than any of the other bird training CDs available. I was pleasantly surprised by the many different phrases offered, some serious and some funny. There are some very silly phrases that are absolutely adorable, and even some wonderful spiritual phrases as well, not offered by the other manufacturers.

The CDs are extremely easy to use, and come complete with instructions for those that are unfamiliar with the way birds learn. Simply play a single phrase on repeat for your bird while you're not home. Taking breaks from the learning process is important so that your pet doesn't get bored or "tune out" the instructor. Remember - you need to talk to your bird too!!! Don't just let the CD do the teaching. Also, if your breed is one that is difficult to teach to speak (like a Cockatiel), go slowly and don't be disappointed if he or she is unwilling or takes very long to learn any particular phrase. Some breeds are easier to teach than others! Before you know it your bird, like mine, will learn to speak using these great CDs!

I love how the voice actress uses inflection to say the phrases just like we would...with joy, excitement and in character. They are fun and enjoyable and I'm looking forward to having my bird communicate with me and my family more and more!

We are just getting into birds and I thought this was a great idea! No results yet, but it is making us more aware of our bird and trying to communicate with him. Great idea!
