'Nick' is not 'Bird', nor is 'Bird', 'Nick'!,
This review is from: Bird of Time (Kindle Edition)
The thing is, this book page is messed up. 'The Nick of Time' and 'The Bird of Time' are two separate books, not one as whomever put this page together would have you believe. I would advise reading 'Nick' first, then 'Bird' (the order in which they were written).
These both are very sci-fi oriented, so if one wants a good story with a little less science, one could go for 'What Entropy Means to Me' even though the blurb selected has to be from (in my opinion) the most unimportant and ultimately weakest part of the book, or 'Wolves of Memory'.

I had high hopes for "Bird of Time," as I was a huge fan of both "When Gravity Fails" and "The Exile Kiss," but wow... what a disappointment!
"Bird of Time" makes little sense, leaps arbitrarily from one loosely explained scenario to another, and leaves thousands of ends dangling, never to be tied up. At times it reads as though it were written by a fifth grader of barely-average skill, and to top it all off... it never really ends. Just stops. All in all, a frustrating and disappointing read. I would not recommend it to anyone. |
