Laura Erickson has done it again! This is a great resource for birding with kids and also for adults to answer those questions that always come up. Written in an easy to read question and answer format, Erickson covers bird migration, behavior, flight, backyard birds, conservation, and more. It's also small enough to fit in your pocket right next to your field guide.

I became a fan of Laura Erickson with 101 Ways to Help Birds and she has continued her mission of giving the best information available with this new book.

This little book sure packs a punch! It is small when you first see it, but open it up, and it is just chock-full of advice pertaining to our sweet little feathered friends. Wow! I was impressed! You will feel like you have come away from this book knowing quite a bit more than you did before you dug into it! I have been into birding for quite awhile now, yet,I was surprised to learn things that I never even knew before! It is a nice addition to your "birding library"....so glad I got it! Plus....you can assist friends and neighbors,when they are confounded about a birding "issue"!

This is a lovely book, filled with very interesting information. I knew I wanted to offer food to the birds, but felt concerned about negative comments I had heard about this practice. This book resolves all of these issues for me. And it provides information about how to feed the birds without harming them: keeping the seed clean and disease free, for example. A lot of things I did not know about.

In addition, there's a lot of information that makes me appreciate birds even more. Intriguing info about mating, caring for their young, migrating, intelligence, how they sing, feathers and how they fly...

On a more mundane level, this is a lovely looking book. It's small (about 6" by 4.5")yet satisfyingly hefty (about 1" thick.) It's attractively bound, with a shiny cover and a textured, matte spine. I had checked this book out at the library and about half way through realized I wanted to own it! Fun facts, lots of information packed inside through a variety of topics. If you enjoy bird watching you will enjoy this!

The subtitle of this book is "Everything You Need to Know to Enjoy
Birds in Your Backyard and Beyond", and the author delivers on this
promise in an engaging, conversational style. This book would be
great to have handy on your favorite birding window sill or stowed in
a field pack. The sturdy construction is a bonus, and there are
well-ordered appendices and an index. A pleasure to real from
beginning to end.

Great little book filled with all kinds of bird tidbits. We are average bird lovers, with feeders in the yard and habitat landscaping to improve our bird friend's cover. This book has interesting topics, lots of fun facts. We love it! Actually bought it after getting it from the library because we couldn't bear to part with it!

I learned a lot from this book and its format makes it easy to browse and enjoy.

I found this book very interesting and informative. I have bought several copies as gifts for friends.

As an avid bird feeder, this book was a great resource answering questions that we always wondered about. Very practical and applicable to us.
