This review is from: Bird-Watching Basics for Dummies w/ 8x25 Compact Binoculars (Electronics)
I was looking for a pair of binoculars for backyard bir watching. After I found Nikon Travelite series (8X25,9X25,10X25), I was determined to get Nikon since all the websites posts highly recommending reviews. Travelite series ranges between $75-$125.

Yesterday, I went to Academy, to get a pair of 9X25 TRavelite. The salesman asked me to try Leupold one (he said, they manufacture scopes so they have the technology), very similar design, plus waterproof (Travelite is not)and same power at a fraction of the price. I tried both, seriously, couldn't tell the difference. Awasome. Crystal clear view, lightweight, rubberlike material which makes it very easy to handle. I paid $39.99 at Academy for these. The book is OK, nothing spectacular. Once you signed up at their web site, you get a CD with all kinds of bird pictures.

Today, I'm going to get another pair so we don't have to fight over these with my husband, so we can enjoy watching the birds at the same time.
