Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

The subtitle of Birdhouses is "20 Step-by-Step Woodworking Projects for the Feathered Community from a Simple Cabin to a Gothic Castle." Arranged in order from the simplest to the most elaborate projects, this book includes instructions, plans, materials, and tools and tells how to decorate and weatherproof your creations for the ages. Our fine feathered friends will appreciate your reading this book and getting started, the sooner the better. Some of the more complex, rococo birdhouses are fantastic projects unsuitable for a beginner, but they may tempt you anyway.

From the Back Cover

Step-by-step illustrations and simple designs inspire the beginning woodworker; more complex projects stretch those with more experience.

Unique designs help you to attract a variety of birds to your garden.

Projects require only the basic tools and equipment found in most do-it-yourself home workshops.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy and Informative!, October 18, 2000

This review is from: Birdhouses: 20 Unique Woodworking Projects for Houses and Feeders (Paperback)
Over the last few months I have been searching for a book to help me in my quest to build my own birdhouse. I have a large yard with lots of trees and a few "store" bought birdhouses but I was not satisfied. When I got the book, "Birdhouses: 20 Unique . . .", I imediately noticed how easy it was to follow the designs and the ideas. The hints on how to build were easy to follow and had good detail. From material to tools to locations, it was full of facts and even gave me many ideas on how to expand on my own creations. All in all, this was the best book I found on the beginning woodworker's desire to build birdhouses. I would recomend it to any hobbiest.
