A JOKE,
By hemant sabharwal (indianapolis, in United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Birdman (Audio CD)
ALRIGHT, WHAT IS BABY A.K.A. #1 STUNNA, AND NOW RIDICULOUSLY-SELF-DUBBED BIRDMAN THINKING? WHAT IS HAPPENING TO BACK WHEN CA$H MONEY RELIED ON ITS OWN ARTISTS? THE ONLY DECENT COLLABORATION IS WITH THE NEPTUNES. HONEST TO GOD, WHO WANTS TO LISTEN TO A SELF-PROCLAIMED "STUNNA" MAKING BIRD NOISES FOR AN ENTIRE ALBUM? I MUST GIVE PROPS TO JAZZE PHA THOUGH FOR EXCELLENT PRODUCTION. JAZZE PHA IS THE REASON "DO THAT" WILL BE APPRECIATED AS A SINGLE. I DON'T PREACH REAL HIP-HOP, BUT P. DIDDY AND BIRDMAN COMBINE TO DELIVER SOME OF THE MOST SENSELESS LINES I HAVE EVER HEARD. THE LYRICISM ON THIS ALBUM IS INCREDIBLY DULL. BABY NEEDS TO DROP THE WHOLE "BIRDMAN" CONCEPT AND REUNITE WITH MANNIE FRESH. CA$H MONEY NEEDS TO DISCOVER SOME NEW TALENT ON THEIR LABEL (NO PUN INTENDED LIL' WAYNE.) THEN MAYBE THEY WILL MAKE SOME LISTENABLE MUSIC.

Cash-Money Recrods: Dying A Little More On Every CD,
By "dconter" (London, Ontario Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Birdman (Audio CD)
Since 1996, Cash-Money has been the greatest rap lable of the south. With only to groups, the Hot Boys (BG, Juvenile, Turk, and Lil' Wayne) and the Big Tymers (Mannie Fresh and Baby) and one track producer (Mannie Fresh), Cash-Money succeeded in making nothing but quality hiphop. BG's 'All on U' volumes 1 and 2, 'Chopper City', 'Chopper City in the Ghetto', and 'Checkmate' are classics. Big Tymers 'How U Luv Dat' volumes 1 and 2 are classics. Juveniles 'Solja Rags', '400 Degreez', and 'Project English' are classics. Lil Wayne's 'Tha Block is Hot' and 'Lights Out' are classics. Both Hot Boys albums are classics. Turk's album is classic. Everything Cash-Money put out was straight fire, but now the empire is crumbling, and no one is left to rebuild. Most of the core rap artists are gone. Juvenile and BG both left because they throught Cash-Money Records was cheating them, and Turk is in jail. To compensate, Cash-Money signed a long list of no-talent rappers, none of whom could ever replace the lost three. Even the rock of the lable, Mannie Fresh, knowing that his beats are wasted on the new rappers, is slowly fading himself out. Baby, co-ceo of Cash-Money and half of the Big Tymers, relizing that his lable was on the verge of colapsing decided the only thing to do was become a solo artist, in an attempt to keep Cash-Money pockets fat. The results are a continuation of the story began on Lil' Wayne's last album '500 Degreez'. Poorly crafted songs about cars, jewley, and women are the central themes on this album. And with Mannie Fresh taking a back seat to overworked, cookie-cutter producers like P. Diddy and Jermaine Dupri, not even the usually good-to-excellent beats that saved previous sub-par albums, like Juvenile's 'G-Code,' are present to help with 'The Birdman.' 'The Birdman' is, beyond any shadow of a doubt, the worst ablum to be released by the Cash-Money record lable. And after '500 Degreez', seems to be the second step in the end of Cash-Money. P.S.: Look for BG's next CD, 'Living Legend', on Chopper City Records. This CD promises to be just as good, if not better, than the classic CDs he put out when Cash-Money was in its prime.

is this a joke?,
This review is from: Birdman (Audio CD)
ok...i bought this album..after readin all the bad reviews on this site..i really really liked "what happened to that boy"...so i bought it at a recycled music store for like $7.99 because i had some money to spend...bad idea..i listened to it on the way home and i thought it was a joke..i didnt know if the store had switched the cd or something because out of the 22 songs on there..i only liked 4 songs! plus none of the songs that i actually liked are really worth a lot of attention. the only good songs on here is #2- "looks like a job 4...", #10-"what happened to that boy", #12- "how it be" and the only reason that song is hot is cause TQ and JD are on it.. and #22- "keeps spinning"...and that is only because TQ, Petey Pablo, T.I. and Mannie are on it...but i knew this one was going to be a good song...but thats it...i laughed throughout the whole album because this guy raps about money and cars on EVERY SINGLE SONG!! it really made me laugh..heres some of his "intelligent" lyrics.."i get what i want and what i want i can have it, lexus, bentley, jags nothin average, never got married but im lovin miss lavish, lovin miss birdlady in that caddy!"...that goes on throughout the whole song and album...and that is one of the songs that i actually like..that was from #2!.....this has got to be a joke...i really hope fast money is better than this because i know that birdman can do wayyy better than this because mannie knows talent and if mannie works with him...he must be hott...he just has to dig down deeper to find where his talent is..but if "fast money" is'nt very good...then he should try to find some better lyracists because he really is a good rapper oh well better luck next time Baby...go out and get mannies new cd" the mind of mannie fresh" because it has got a lot of great beats and a lot of good lyrics...none of this garbage of an album...
