Definitely worth the money!,

I love this book. The best feature is that you can look up the birds by color to find out their type. There is a bit of information about eating, habitats, mating, best viewing and how to attract for each type of bird. It is easy to read, simple to use, and it's small size allows it to fit anywhere. It's great for a beginner to identify the birds in your own backyard.

I love this bird book. It is divided by color and very easy to use. The Stan's notes section has interesting facts and useful information. The photos are close up and very helpful when identifying a bird.

Awesome guide to the birds of CT. Ours is quite worn out from all the use it's gotten. Highly recommended. Not sure why it is paired with a Colorado book though???

Great book. Lots of pictures to differentiate between male and female birds (and also a description of immature birds). I found this book to immensely helpful in identifying birds in my backyard. It was everything that I was looking for in a book on CT birds.

Pictures and info are quite good. The sections are divided by primary color of the bird (black, brown, etc.), but I wish it had an index where you could look up "ducks", for example, and get all the pages where ducks are listed. However, that is a minor issue. Handy pocket size and a useful resource.

Backyard birder book,
This review is from: Birds of Connecticut Field Guide (Paperback)
I bought this book soon after moving to CT so that I could identify the birds I was seeing. It is good as a beginners books because it organizes the birds by color instead of by Genus. It is a good reference for people who want to know what is visiting the feeder in their back yard. It is nowhere near complete though and in a year I have seen dozens of birds (many of them native) in CT that are not in this book. Within a couple of months as I learned more about bird species I started to find the organization by color annoying. So as a beginners book this is a good one, however, if you are interested in actively birding you will grow out of this book quickly. For a complete guide and a nicely organized one get "Smithsonian Handbooks: Birds of New England". That book includes a section in the back with rare migrants.
