This is not just for kids! It covers many interesting birds less-known than what the blurb above implies! I got this book as a gift intended as a joke. Little did the gift giver expect how much I would love this little book. It's a phenomenally well-designed book, especially if you intend to dip into it sporadically. Even today, one year later, when I pop it open to random pages, I learn new things. Today, I opened it to a random page and learned how to make plaster casts of animal tracks. The range covered by this book is the entire planet...I'm a bird lover and am familiar with many, many species around the world, but even I didn't know about many of the species discussed in this book. The photographs and drawings are excellently done and excellently placed. The text reveals fascinating facts (many of which even I, a serious but casual birder, was previously unaware of). This is a small but amazingly comprehensive and amazingly interesting book!
