Otto Pfister is a well-known wildlife photographer who is also an expert in biodiversity monitoring and conservation. He has conducted numerous research expeditions into Ladakh. He is the co-author of Birds of the Himalayas (1998) and Birds of India (2003). He has published widely in papers, magazines, and journals across the world.
