This is a great book with glossy color pictures of every possible bird you might see in the Willamette Valley. Lots of neat info, and a place to record bird sightings.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Reference Book!!, January 28, 2011
This review is from: Birds of the Willamette Valley Region (Regional Bird Books) (Paperback)
Has clear, large color photos. Also, this guidebook has several helpful features:

Under "Description": Select words in each sentence are printed in darker ink to highlight words that describe the features that distinguish that bird.
Eg: for "Song sparrow": Darker print says "Dark, dense streaking....Wide gray eyebrow"

Under "Similar species": explains how to distinguish this bird from similar appearing birds
Eg: "Song sparrow": Fox sparrow lacks broad eyebrow... Lincoln's sparrow more trim-appearing...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Birding Book, September 30, 2010
This review is from: Birds of the Willamette Valley Region (Regional Bird Books) (Paperback)
A must have for those in the Willamette Valley area. It is so nice to not have to thumb through pages of birds that are not even in our specific area. Good photos and interesting info on each species.
