Excellently presented and detailed book. The book meets its intention of providing details on making a sophisticated and detailed quilt. This is for the dedicated quilter who enjoys a long-term project.

This is a beautiful book with lovely pictures and instructions by an award winning quilt artist. I saw this quilt at the International Quilt Festival in Houston and this book presents the quilt excellently.

This book has so many beautiful pictures and ideas that I was overwhelmed at first. I'm not quite ready to
tackle these projects but I know I'll be able to use some of the ideas and techniques in it.

This book is an inspiration for doing other projects as well as doing the quilt in the book. If you don't want to take on the whole quilt, start with one block. You may find you make block after block. Or you can use these techniques to enhance your own designs. This is a beautiful, inspirational book. A great addition to your quilting library.

A masterpiece in writing for those who want to attempt such a project. Easy to follow and beautiful to see and read. A true artist in ink and fabric.

This is an applique book to die for. It is absolutely wonderful and is a wonderful additon to her other book, The Little Brown Bird.

If you are in to applique this is a wonderful book. Her talent is amazing. The book is great reading for those interested in hand sewing.

This book is absolutely stunning. There are many full color photos of exquisite garden quilts that inspire. Margaret shares her own inspiration for the quilt shown on the cover `Bird `n' Roses Quilt'. The entire quilt pattern with detailed and clear instruction is included. There are 8 different little birds and a bevy of flowers including clematis, primula, and of course roses. Plenty of full color pictures

Will I ever make a quilt like Margaret Docherty's? Probably not. But that doesn't keep me from reading these pages, looking at these beautiful pictures, and imagining what it would be like to create such a masterepiece. I am fascinated by the detail Docherty artfully incorporates into her quilts. On a practical side, the drawings are beautiful, and I've used snippets here and there to add to my own beginning applique work. For me, the book is worth having. It's like reading a well-crafted story.
