February 14, 2002
"The New Birdwatcher's Pocket Guide to Britain and Europe" is a compact and concise pocket-size field guide to 430 species of birds that live in or regularly visit Britain and the rest of Europe. The guide is organized in scientific order, with at least six illustrations of each species. The written text is presented in captions and annotations, explaining how to correctly identify different species. Symbols show at a glance in which habitats each bird can be found and at what time of year each is present - both essential factors for correct identification. This portable field guide is for birdwatchers of every level.

This review is from: New Birdwatcher's Pocket Guide to Britain and Europe (Hardcover)
My name is Kuzey Cem Kulaçoğlu, I'm 10 years old. I'm the son of Hakan Kulaçoğlu. I think this pocket will be in the TOP 10 corners of bookshops and the best-seller guide. The text is about its length, colors, habits, habitats and their voices. And illustrations are excellent,, my mom did think illustrations are photographs. This is my best guide about birds of europe.

This review is from: New Birdwatcher's Pocket Guide to Britain and Europe (Hardcover)
This is the book which sits next to our kitchen sink so that we can look up anything seen in our own back garden. It also accompanies me whenever I am out and about in the country. If it is a small pocket guide you are seeking - then look no further.

Commencing with a few Basics, we then mover quickly on to How the Guide Works followed by a list of species included. Time spent on reading these introductory items is time well spent. All bird types are shown together commencing with the smallest (Firecrest) and working up to the larger birds with all seabirds included right at the end.

An excellent book.
