These Boston's with a soft footbed are a great choice for the fall season here in the Midwest.
I have a pair of brown clogs like these for 5 plus years and they hold up very well and still look new.
One day I said to myself, "Self, I bet those Birkenstocks are mighty comfortable.

These are handsome, well made and look great with casual pants, shorts or cassock if you are a Catholic priest. I have a pair of brown clogs like these for 5 plus years and they hold up very well and still look new. These shoes are worth every penny. Very happy I made this purchase.

I am a nurse and am often on my feet for 12 hours at a stretch on a hard linoleum floor. I have several pairs of so-called "comfort" shoes for work (i.e. Born, Merrill, Keen, Clarks). Ever since receiving my first pair of Birks about a month or so ago, those other shoes have sat unworn in my closet. There is nothing better than Birkenstocks, period. I'm collecting a few different colors, and thankfully the price here on Amazon is unbeatable. Imagine your favorite slippers upgraded with a perfect mold of the bottom of your foot, with optimum arch support. I never have foot or back pain at the end of a long day (both of which have been issues in the past). Another thing: I find it unnecessary to curl my toes to keep the shoes on like other clogs/mules. Maybe it's the adjustable strap that helps with that. Size-wise, I wear a size 8 to 8 1/2 B depending on the brand, and the 39N is a perfect fit. I guess I'm a bit of a 70's throwback because I do really like the style.

These are my first pair of Birkenstocks. So this review is based on my initial reaction upon receiving them and I'll try to update it as needed.

In light of all the hoopla with Birkenstocks, I'm not sure if I could have helped from being somewhat disappointed upon first inspection. They do seem very nice, but I was somewhat disappointed by the fit. Even though I had read many reviews before ordering, saying you should order your normal shoe size, they still seem too long. I even went with a narrow width, although I normally wear medium widths. I will note that I like sandals to fit snug, so I sometimes size down some, but I didn't do that with these. So if you're in between two sizes, my recommendation would be to go with the smaller one.

I think the best thing about these shoes is that the leather uppers are very soft and comfortable. It's not that I didn't expect them to be, but I was still somewhat surprised by how much. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the sole. While I don't think there's anything wrong with it, it seems a bit hard and I don't find it as comfortable as some people say it is. This is something that I know will probably change over time, but this is my initial opinion.

Overall, I think they're nice shoes, but I'm just not sure that they're as special as some people claim.

A year sgo I was suffering with Plantar fasciitis and Metatarsal stress fracture. It took months to heal. My podiatrist made me orthotics that helped some and before that he casted my foot and then the boot. Until I took the chance and ordered Birkenstocks, I suffered. NOW! I wear ONLY Birkenstocks and am pain free.
You do have to wear the birkenstock gradually and work up to wearing them all day. Once you have done this, you will have relief like you didn't think was possible.
Amazon has the best prices. I have looked, this is fact.
Love my Birkenstocks and I hope others buy them. They won't regret it.

After 10 years and literally wearing through the rubber, cork, and leather on the heels of my previous pair, I'm back for more. I only wish new pairs broke in faster. Great shoe that will last you a long time. Might not win you any fashion trend awards but they look fine and feel great.

I have been wearing Birkenstock shoes for more than thirty years. They are great for all day work shoes and for hard surfaces. So . . . for Birkenstock shoes in general five out of five stars.
I am reviewing here the clog in blue suede (the color is called denim blue). I ordered the firm foot bed shoe and received the padded foot bed version. Apparently as of 5-30-12 the blue suede clog is only available in the padded version.
Comparing side by side an older firm bed clog in the light colored tan suede and the brand new blue suede with the padded bed , both in the mens 41 M size, the padded one is noticeably wider visually. When it comes to beauty a wider Beirkenstock is not necessarily the direction I would go. Wearing it there is more toe room in the wider. They seem to be the same length fit wise. With no socks on I was able to still wear both without the padded pair falling off but I had to tighten the strap two holes tighter and I can see my self punching another hole if the padding breaks down in the years to come.
I think this roomier shoe will work out well for me but I can see the wider size causing problems for some people. I suppose Birkenstock had to consolidate their line of versions with the economic down turn and the imitation knock off wannabe companies taking some of their business. I personally wish they would just stick to the unpadded shoes and let the other style shoes go with all the unnecessary soft padding.

I got a pair of brown Birkenstock Boston clogs back in 2001 in Munich. The pair I got were "glattleder" which is just slightly less shiny than patent leather. I've had the rubber sole/out-tread replaced three times, and have resealed the cork around the heel myself once or twice. I shine these with brown polish a few times a year, and that's it. They are still going strong and the leather looks as good as it did the first year I wore them, and they have some serious miles on them. If you buy Birks, take care of them. Replace the treads before they wear through to the cork and condition the leather. Unlike most shoes, they are made to last for years. Oh, and word to the wise, the soles will feel hard as rocks at first. Hold off on the long walks until they are broken in. One they are formed to your feet though they are very comfortable.
