I love Birks... this purchase is replacing a pair of black suede Arizona sandles that I wore and did not take care of this winter!
I do own over 30 pairs of Birks all different styles and types...
However, this is the first pair of "soft footbed" Birks I have purchased and WOW! what comfort! They appear to be identical to my old pair but that little layer of foam in the footbed makes a wonderful difference. I have been wearing them to walk on my treadmill every evening instead of my "sneakers". If I have a choice of traditional footbed or soft footbed I will always pick the soft footbed when I puchase any pair of Birks from now on !

I owned a pair of these back when I was in high school and I loved them so much I wore them down to the cork and then some. Recently my boyfriend mentioned that he wanted to purchase a pair because he tried on his brother's birks and found them to be really comfortable. We both ordered a pair online and we love them so much that we even where them inside the house.

According to the Birkenstock website, narrow is a North American equivalent of normal so if your width is normal order the narrow. The sizes are true to size so you can't go wrong ordering online. If you're unsure of which size to order, order the smaller one. I'm usually a size 7.5-8 and I ordered the 7-7.5 size (38). The soft footbed is great for me since I have flat feet and now I wonder why it took me over 10 years to replace my first pair.

This is one purchase that you will appreciate and enjoy all summer long.

I fell in love with Birkenstocks when I lived in Germany. After 10 years of faithful service, my birks were all wearing out so I went searching for replacements. Aside from severe sticker shock at the US prices (yes - they have Birkenstock OUTLETS in Germany)this source was perfect with lots of variety and choices. I am a huge fan of the soft footbed and caution women with average width feet to buy the "narrow" birk instead of the regular for better fit.

I am a repeat purchaser of Birkenstock footwear and find them to be extremely comfortable throughout the year. The company I ordered from was extremely efficient, the product was as advertised and the shipping arrived two days earlier than projected. I would buy again from this company without hesitation.

these sandals are wonderfully compfterble. they look great and to top it all this is a quality shoe. the soft footbed feels great and is defenetlly worth the extra cost.you should know that they run quite large and wide.
