A Good Sensible Shoe, November 21, 2010
I have worn these timeless shoes since 1981, and they are the main staple of my shoe wardrobe. They are extremely hardy and comfortable, and, although they might not be elegant enough for a grand ball, I have worn them to Renaissance Faires, all over Oxford, England, along the rugged terrain of the High Sierra town of Mammoth Lakes, California, and even on school field trips to the Mojave desert! I have both gardened and danced in them. I have worn them for scholarly research and for sawing wood. They have peeked from beneath Elizabethan and 1400's style gowns, but have also been encased with Southern California mud! They are truly a great basic to any wardrobe.
