Having bought the Birnbaum book for kids, I thought I would treat myself to the one for adults. The book is very user friendly and the pictures of what I'm about to experience are getting me that much more excited for my trip. Though not as detailed as the Unofficial book, this book feels more like a Cliff's Notes version with pretty images. Everything is pretty clear cut and straight forward but doesn't really give you as much insight than other guides. If you're looking for something easy to read with nice presentation, then this is the book for you. If you are looking for something that's got more depth and insight, then I would purchase the Unofficial Guide by Bob Sehilinger and Len Testa.

I'm a regular at Disney World, but I always like to buy this guide before my trips. It is a good reference for information that you need and includes some good tips. I also buy it for the coupons in the back of the book, which if you use them, will more than cover the cost of the book.

The Birnbaum guides to Disney are an absolute essential for anyone planning a Disney vacation. The guides have information that will allow you to get the most out of your visit. The guide contains information on every ride, attraction, and resturant in the parks, along with maps, etc. The Birnbaum guide will also give advice on the best time of year to visit as well. It will I have taken my family to Disney World twice, and have bought the current guide both times. This year we are planning a trip to Disney Land and will definately get the guide.

I'm not impressed at all with this book. It is very short, and lacking in any objectivity. I can find everything in here online elsewhere. It does some great pictures, and short summaries of many things (dinning, hotels, etc.) For a much more comprehensive and informative book, try The Unofficial Guide Walt Disney World 2013.

Good basic info, especially for first timers.
Just know that this is not an impartial book, it has the Disney "spin".

I got this book to help plan for Disney but honestly I found the passport to Disney (blue cover) is much more useful. This book just doesn't have the tips and insight as the other book does. I also have to agree there is more infroamtion online just through mouseforless or moms mouse pannel. I was also disappointed that it really didn't talk much about the New Fantasy Land. The other book is not coming out till Feb so that it can include that information. I say save the money and buy the 2012 version as it is the same book.

If you've never been to Disney World or haven't been in many, many moons (like me) then this book will be a great buy for you. There have been many updates made to the parks over the years, and this book includes all the updates. I purchased this book since we are planning our return to WDW in Fall of 2014. I purchased this same guide back in 2006 for our Disneymoon, and it was much loved for at least 2 years (2 trips). This is a reputable guide full of pointers for trips with kids and without. I only gave it 4 stars because I would love to see updates photos in these guides. They are using many of the same photos from older years, and I would love to see some of the new updates included in the pictures.

Birnbaum has always been "The" authority when it comes to all things Disney, but this one comes alittle short. There are new items that have been open for awhile that are not even mentioned in the book, as well as, some that are listed as opening late 2013, that are already open. Don't get me wrong, it is still a "must-read" for people going to WDW, but it doesn't have all the latest info. It is still a VERY worthwhile investment
