I am a travel agent, specializing in Disney and Universal travel. I use this book to back up the information I have learned in taking the Disney Travel Agent courses.

I have found that the information in this book is accurate, up to date (as long as you get the latest version) and very helpful.

The descriptions are unbiased and very good. This book covers all the Disney parks in great detail. Wonderful for first time visitors or repeat guests.

I would say that it is not a full guide but more of a take along guide. Even though I have been to Disney World many times over the years, I still learned a few new things with this book.

Just came back from my Disney vacation and this was one of the guides I enjoyed using. I liked that the guide was small enough to fit in my purse and contained enough info to keep me organized. While on my trip I noticed that most Disney guests tend to use the Birnbaum guides and The Healthy Guide to Walt Disney World 2009: How to Eat Right and Stay Fit in Disney - The NEW Diet, Dining, Food, Fitness and Complete Weight Loss Book when doing their touring of the WDW parks and restaurants. I also used both guidebooks and found them to be quite helpful in planning and organizing my trip.

This little guide book was everything we needed once in the parks... although it does not include park maps! You have to use the map furnished by the park in addition to using this book for complete navigation. Also, the full-size book we bought was much better for hotel room based planning. More detailed logistical information and less ride description would make this mini-guide book more useful all around.

This is a great guide, very much like the full size one, just in a handy travel size. The biggest thing missing is the planning section, which you don't need when you're there! I brought this with me on a recent trip, but I never used it. The reason for that, though is because I read it so many times before we left, that I had it memorized. (Plus the kids were in charge!)
It is a great, info filled guide that is wonderful for planning your trip, and I would definitely buy a later edition for a future trip.

The books cover everything at Disney World from entertainment, hotels, restaurants,tickets and what to bring plus lots of details one doesn't think about--example like what to do and where to go on a rainy day.

This book has a lot of great information and is small enough to fit right in your bag! It even has a place in the back to keep your tickets or passes in. All-in-all, a great little reference guide!

If you are going to Orlando for the 1st or 500th trip you need this guide. Disney is constantly changing things and this guide is on the money every time! For a few bucks you can get the most out of your trip.

This book is perfect for bringing to Disney if you don't want to lug around the larger version of the book. I'm going in October and I plan to read this on the plane. It's perfect for slipping into a backpack and even has a pocket for FastPasses. I recommend this for any Disney fan, whether it is your first time at the park or your 50th. :)

I have been purchasing Birnbaum guides since 1998, and have kept them from year to year. I originally found it to be a good guide for the novice, but have since discovered that it's extremely accurate in it's information and one of the most up-to-date guides out there. If you haven't ever been to Disney World, this book should be your starting point.Full of useful data, the great pictures and the easy to carry along size make this book as valuable to the WDW traveler as their camera. If your taking the kids, I'd also suggest Birnbaums Disney World for kids which was actually written using recommendations from children who have already made the trip. It gives even someone who has made the trip before a kids-eye view of what to look for in the parks.

One day suggested itineraries for each park were very helpful. Portability is key, but you need a more comprehensive guide for overall trip planning (resorts, water parks, money saving tips, etc.)
