I bought this book for my very young grandson to give him an idea of what to expect when taking our trip to Disney. This book was much too old for him and might work well for the 8 to 12/13 age group. It doesn't contain a lot and I cannot see older children carrying this around with them at the parks. Many of them are after the autographs of the characters - this book does have a section for that but I don't believe big enough based on all the autograph books I saw other children with. I wouldn't purchase again even if my grandson were older.

When I looked at the book myself, I wasn't terribly impressed....I had been hoping for more photos, and there are only photos of some of the attractions. However, my four-year-old son has been carrying it around the house for weeks now, having us read things about the attractions to him. He can quote passages in it from memory! I guess I should let him be the judge, since it is his book. He probably would have given it five stars.

Bought this to help plan five day vacation at Disney World with son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren (5 and 3). It was fun to read and very very helpful in terms of planning for what to do and where to eat with young children (and what not to do). The kids loved having characters sign the apecial autograph pages. The "kid" comments are from children from about 9 to 14 and were candid and good. They were clear about what was good for their ages as well as what would be better for younger children or just adults.

We take our kids, now ages 4 and 6, to Disney World every year, and each year, I try to do something fun and unique with them to get them excited for their trip. This was IT this year, and it was fun for them to be read to from this book each night, and there are little "activities" for them to do. The autograph section in the back came in handy at Disney when we ran out of pages in the other autograph books that we bought at the park. I've already passed it along to another friend who's taking her 4 kids to Disney in April, and they've enjoyed it as much as we did. I'd highly recommend this book, especially if you're trying to find a way to surprise your kids on a special occasion with a Disney trip ... wrap it up and let them open it, and when they do, they'll KNOW they're going to DISNEY!!!

I can't say enough great things about this book. I purchased it for my 3 yr old about 6 months before our trip to Disney, and in about two weeks he had the entire book memorized and our trip planned for us. He knew just by the pictures which rides were loud, dark, scary, and rough. When we arrived in Disney he knew just where to go from looking at the maps in the book. And now, 8 months after our trip, it remains his favorite book. If you're planning a trip to Disney, you must get this book for your child.

This book is a wonderful resource for elementary school aged children. My 6-year-old poured over this book before our trip to Disney and it helped prepare him for what to expect. Since returning from our trip a few weeks ago, he still looks at the book almost every day to point out things he remembers and what he'd like to do next time we go back. This book was completely worth the money spent on it.

I bought this book for a Christmas present for my then 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 daughters to get them ready for our trip to Disney World. They really enjoyed having me read them this book cover to cover. They still look at this book now. While I know it's geared towards the older crowd (8+), the younger ones can still enjoy it but with adult interaction.

Birnbaum Guides "Walt Disney World For Kids" should be your #1 book at Disney.
I went to Walt Disney World with my three grandchildren and two books. Fodor's "Walt Disney World With Kids" was the other book.Birnbaum's was by far the better one.It was more concise, had better tips, it was easy to carry and refer to.
I bought Birnbaum's book for the grandchildren and ended up using it myself.

BOUGHT THE BOOK FOR MY DAUGHTER (WHO'S 8) AND SHE IS SO EXCITED ABOUT GETTING SOME AUTOGRAPHS AND FROM LOOKING THRU IT SHE KNOWS WHAT THE BEST RIDES FOR HER ARE! GREAT PICTURES IN FULL COLOR-VERY KID FRIENDLY!

This book was extremely helpful when planning our trip to Disney World. The descriptions of the attractions were right on and allowed my children to assess whether or not they wanted to go on an attraction. The quotes from the kids helped my oldest daughter to realize that the "scary" attractions were still full of Disney magic!
