Editorial Reviews

Review

"Represents decades of clinical meditation on two analyses of very young children conducted in the early 1950s by Rosine Lefort... Anyone interested in Lacan's psychoanalytical theories should not fail to read these revealing clinical studies by one of his most authoritative and lucid interpreters. Readers who have been put off by Lacan's difficulty will find this book especially rewarding." -- Herman Rapaport, author of Between the Sign and the Gaze --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hope for the psychotic child, March 5, 2000

This review is from: Birth of the Other (Paperback)
This book is a must for psychoanalytical psychotherapists. Rosine LeFort clearly displays her unconditional love and genuine concern for these two very disturbed children. LeFort's work is truly brilliant and beyond her time. She is comfortable within herself and Nadia (psychotic patient) is aware of this, which is one of the reasons why she eventually allowed the Other to enter into her world. LeFort's research went beyond and endured the frustration and futility of Autism and made the reader more aware of how disturbing the Autistic position really is.
