Forget Country! This disc shows how Patsy was influnced by such jazz vocal greats as Kay Starr,Del la Reese,and Anita O'Day. In turn, this set shows they were influnced by her. Both "Come On In" and "Down By The Riverside" stem from O'Day's work with The Stan Kenton Orchestra. The use of the trombone on "Hungry For Love" as well as the trumpets and drums would be reflected by Kay Starr on her 1959 "Movin" LP arranged by Van Alexander. Finally,Cline,s vocals show a strong gospel influence which is the heart of Della Reese's style especially on Reese's 1961 LP "Special Delivery". This disc confirms Cline's place as one of the best vocalists of the 20th Century.

What a great glimpse into Patsy's early career. These are some of the performances that are talked about in biographies on Patsy. Hearing these clips really brought things to life!

Included are songs heard on many of her albums. It's nice to hear these alternate takes. It's also a treat to hear the dialogue between Patsy, Hilda, and Mr. Godfrey. I wish the CD included more of those types of clips.

This may not be the best CD for somebody just discovering Patsy and her music. However, this work is a must for any seasoned Cline fan looking for something beyond what we're used to hearing from the recording booth.

This recording has one of the greatest versions of Walkin' After Midnight that you will ever hear.... a must for Cline fans!

This album is so good. Buy it. It contains 19 previously unreleased numbers. They are rare. Buy this CD. I urge all of you to get this. Good stuff.
